made a compilation of some favourite line deliveries because
how uncanny would it have been if the piss dimension looked EXACTLY like ours. they were preparing for a world no one had ever seen before, only to find green grass and blue skies, a place untouched by humanity
nothing screams pride month and ''we love their love'' more than holding your brutally murdered lesbian fiancee in your arms <3
Boyd, season 1-3: Be very careful! Stay in your homes, don't interact with weird things!! Protect yourselves!!!
Boyd, season 4: Sure, build your own monster out of clay, eat the mushrooms, drink the blood. I don't give a shit. Nothing else is working, let's shake it up a bit.
i genuinely could never get over zuko and katara in the crystal catacombs............like why are you opening up to your enemy about your childhood trauma, a blackened part of your heart that no one else has really taken seriously or just brushes over........and why are you offering to HEAL your enemy's scar when you've done nothing but fight against one another............and why are you letting your enemy touch the scar that you've developed such a deep shame over............the war is raging on, and the world is breaking itself outside from both flame and stone, and somehow, in between, zuko and katara tethered themselves with these small pieces of tenderness and empathy.......no matter how brief it had been, and no matter how it ended, and no matter how they faced each other again from opposite sides........like it happened and for a moment, everything was possible and love drew in a startled breath
miwi making a promise that when they grow up they'd leave hawkins together so neither one has to look ridiculous running behind the other's train begging for forgiveness like the silly romance movies their moms used to watch.
mike, age 12, running behind will's hearse as it takes will away from him. taking everything he knows and everything he loves in a little black case, and he can only stand and watch as will's body is driven towards the yellow sun setting in the west, heartless in the way it refuses to tell the blue sky if they will ever meet again as it slowly sinks into the ground.
halfway through utena
nikki breaks my heart so bad because in the brief moments we see her before the wish kicks in, she's so cool and funny, clearly kindhearted, very driven about her future (telling bear about how she was going to quit her job to focus on her writing), and also very sure of herself as a person. ive seen people describe this movie as "mean-spirited" and I think thats so apt because it was a 2 hour long tragedy of the torture of this innocent girl, taking away everything she's ever had, including her own sense of self, putting her through unimaginable horrors, and leaving her with nothing except the three dead bodies of her friends, with the one who she trusted most being the one who did this to her. nothing for her to look for hope in, because she has nothing before her except a lifetime in prison or in an institution. it would be one thing if the movie ended on a note like weapons, where everything was over and there would hopefully be recovery somewhere down the line, but here, not only was the evil not committed by a random stranger but her closest friend, but she doesn't get any chance at recovery either. so goddamn tragic. on that note, if anyone can come up with some sort of fix-it for nikki please link it to me because I will be crying about this girl forever.
LITERALLY BRO AND PPL STILL SYMPATHIZE WITH BEAR?!?!??????? AUGHHHH
the trio of joy and whimsy & the trio of doom and despair
guys i don't think carol's conversion therapy past and her petrifying fear of having her consent violated means anything. i think she's just playing hard to get really. and i don't think her illusionship with the ghost of a woman who cannot individually consent means a lot either btw
should we tell you how much she loved you?
God just the fact that Carol is a full grown independent adult who’s been an adult for decades with enough money to be completely independent from her homophobic family and who’s been in a relationship with a woman for at least over a decade if not longer and yet she’s just still SO fuckin TERRIFIED of coming out because she’s just so incredibly traumatized by her homophobic upbringing and her experience in that conversion camp. She has built an entire career on writing heterosexual books that she wanted to make sapphic but she was too afraid to, she lies about which man she is attracted to online when her fans ask cause it’s safer, she wears more feminine clothing at her book signings than she normally would in normal life so that no one will suspect that she’s gay and her agent is her wife. It’s just so sad. Can you imagine knowing you were gay when you were sixteen years old and then still being closeted in your fifties? Can you imagine how scared and traumatized you have to be of your own identity to remain closeted for that many decades? How trapped she must feel within her own identity? How she’s built a career that in her head rests on her continuing to be trapped within it never letting anyone know? It’s so sad. And I bet it was just so incredibly hard for Helen to watch Carol go through for so many years. How hard it would be to watch someone you love so much subject themselves to so much pain no matter how many times you try to tell them that they’re safe they’re not sixteen anymore it’s safe it’s okay and they’re too traumatized to hear you? And then at the end of all of this after decades of the incredible pain of being closeted for so many years….your wife the only person you could be your authentic self with. Dies in a pretty horrific manner right in front of you. And then the next day you’re informed that the entire world now knows you’re gay and knows how you were originally going to make your books gay before you got too scared and talked yourself out of it. Even sent you a woman who looked like a female version of the character you forced yourself to make male. So what was the point in the end? What was the point of subjecting yourself to so much pain for decades only for none of it to matter anymore in the span of 24 hours? Only for it to never matter again? What was the point?
