currently hyperfixated on welcome to eltingville/the eltingville club and i've noticed a lot of ppl hc bill as a tguy which is probably just because he's the twinkiest and people subconsciously or not want him to be a cute submissive soft trans boy but the side of me that has more faith in the fandom says it's actually a stroke of narrative genius because if you know anything about the comics especially if you've actually read them (i haven't cause idk where to read all of it for free so im just gonna buy it when im not so broke) bill is soooo much shittier as a person and specifically he's a huge misogynist and an incel which is a shockingly common phenomenon w transmascs and one could argue that bill in particular puts down women and claims they aren't authentic in their enjoyment of geek culture to distance himself from them and get the feeling of gender euphoria and like that's a really awful way to get gender euphoria obviously but from what i know it seems totally in character. probably overthinking this but whatever

i have a headcanon that Bill Dickey is literally just Gay and having a hard time realizing it because all of his attraction to women seems super performative.

like yes, he fantasizes about women and objectifies them from afar.

when i fantasize about cis male celebrities, i know i really wouldn't want them if i had the chance. i'll talk about how hot they are but i don't want a cis man.

i think Bill is the same about women, because a woman can be great from far away but once they enter his world he immediately criticizes them.

it probably stems both from the fear that his friends will replace him with her and from his repressed gay feelings for (probably not limited to) Jerry.

Bill might even be so repressed that he's confused as to why he can't make a genuine connection with any woman. this leads to more misogyny and also self loathing.

he constantly tries to get the others to stay, going so far as negging them like a shitty boyfriend would to keep them around. to keep them thinking they can't do better and they certainly can't get girlfriends.
