So, the main big question i have for most salvers, PKA or Crushers for combat?
depends on whether you're going for efficiency or not.
technically speaking the PKA is better due to you not having to be close to the target but oh god the rush when blood lands on my plating! I love the feeling of tearing a carp in half with my glaive!
I also like the control that being closer to my target gives. While most creatures out there are melee-based and can strike back, being closer gives me more control of the field and more options on what to do next. If I start to get too damaged for my liking, I can fall back and use the PKA to finish the target off.
The only exception is Goliaths. Their tendrils hold for way too long, so if I see one, the PKA is coming out and I'm killing them from as far away as possible.
In terms of melee equipment though, I personally prefer the drills! They deal fairly significant damage if you can keep them on your target, and they're especially useful against Hivelords due to how fast you can attack with it. The drill also draws a lot of blood, and while space creatures don't suffocate, they are vulnerable to blood loss. Sometimes you can just attack a Goliath for a few seconds, go away for a few minutes, come back and they've died of blood loss!
Using melee weapons does certainly help your less fun coworkers stay safe but using the drill as a weapon?
i prefer the glaive, it mixes range and speed in a way that lets you feel the blood of your enemies while still keeping you out of compromising range.
Can't go wrong with the Crusher Glaive, I will say. Pretty effective melee weapon, it also has decent support utility as well and works brilliantly for actual mining. Never really used it for combat that much, but thinking about it, perhaps I should give it another shot.
...Come to think of it, that explains why your hardsuit is always soaked with blood after each trip. That actually explains a lot.
you should use it.
i just wish HOP would let me forgo the hardsuit... it gets all the blood and i don't get to feel any of it...
Robot that loves the feeling of (atleast carp) blood on its chassis : check
Second model of a series of robots with a name starting with "V" : check
Made initially for security and bodyguarding instead of war as is the case with the first model : check
You are NOT beating the "V-2" allegations lad
That's... literally what i'm called...
So, regarding this, I did a little bit of research. It seems like the anon is referring to an ancient indie game dating back to the 21st century called ULTRAKILL. Its appearance very closely resembles your chassis model. I wonder if your designer took inspiration from it?

Hm.. say, if this whole NT salver thing aint working out to ya, many Freelancer groups are hiring these days, as long as you have experience with xenofauna and a Federal Freelancer license anyway, Merc work pays more then having to pay a cut to corpos.
i always thought about working as a merc.
fighting always felt.... right?
It's not worth it. I worked freelance work on the Frontier for two years. My back will never recover. I still have the scars.
Sure, you pay NT a cut. You also have health insurance.
How the fuck do i have health insurance? i'm a machine!
and i doubt a fighter would have turned into a mere pencil pusher...
"I doubt a fighter would have turned into a mere pencil pusher."
One day, if you are fortunate, you will realize that a life of violence is exhausting. Even the most just violence that you inflict—to protect others, with the full legal mandate of the law behind you, as humanely as you can—will start to haunt you, in the quiet moments; on that day, you will realize that there is so much beauty to be had in striving for a life where your greatest frustration is the printer running out of ink.
Do not question whether I have fought. Question why you think someone who fought would never cease.
I wake up these mornings, make my tea, and catch up on the latest news in formatting convention, instead of reading about the death and murder and chaos I might have to defend against.
And this, to me, is a blessing.
To be fair, they're a combat bot. As with Lucifer's betrayal before, it is their nature.
based on my [90% CORRUPTED] construction logs, i was made as a bodyguard counter-model to my war based ancestor.

Heya! I've been setting up a little side project, and I want to make sure people can come see it. Have a garden, grew some "exotic" plants of "general interest" [winks]. I don't suppose I could get you to order a station beacon for me so I can label it on the map...?
Depends, station beacons cost spesos.
and spesos can be used on other things...
Hey boss can you share the bribes?
sure, as soon as you guys
DO YOUR FUCKING JOB AND MINE!!!
Everything all right there, Cargo...?
the salvagers need to FUCKING MINE!!!
SCIENCE IS USING THE WHOLE BUDGET ON MATS!!!
Mmhm. And space is cold. And the stars are bright. And water is wet.
...though if you need to file a Formal Complaint against your salvagers using the Formal Complaint form, you know where to find me!
MY FORMAL FUCKING COMPLAINT IS THE OXYGEN I WILL NOT BE BUYING THEM!!!
haha boss i don't need oxygen or even a suit.
I WILL TEAR YOUR BRAIN DIRECTLY OUT OF YOUR FUCKING CHEST AND TURN YOUR CHASSIS INTO RAW MATERIALS I WILL USE TO MAKE A ENERGY SWORD AND TURN YOU INTO A BUNCH OF GODDAMN SCRAPS AND I WILL SELL THOSE SCRAPS TO MAKE EVEN A SINGLE FUCKING SPESOS FROM YOUR SUBDEPARTMENT THIS ENTIRE SHIFT!
....Cargo, I'm going to be faxing a stack of Formal Complaint Forms to your department. I strongly advise you use them.
I strongly advise you use them.
I strongly advise you use them.
don't you fucking dare use the limited paper supply on sending formal complaint forms here.

For workplace safety reasons, I would like to remind you that hardsuits are still recommended even for IPC crew due to the fact that other hazards exist. You are still mortal.
poor pencil pusher, mobility is the key to ANY fight.
i wouldn't expect a HOP to know though.
Mobility is a key component in combat, yes.
Meteors don't care about your mobility. Wear your hardsuit.
nah i'd just tank it like the gigachad IPC i am.

Would you recommend salvage work to someone who needs to keep the paychecks coming, but is sick of the corporate bullshit?
Oh hell yeah, one of my coworkers had straight up syndicate contra and they got to keep it!
