Iām having an interview at the end of the month. Iām going to wrap up in my best coat and hat and head to Tyntesfield, Bristolās Gothic revival mansion. Iām hoping that The National Trust will let me give up my Sunday afternoons to stand in a bedroom, drawing room, sitting room, billiard room or hall, and bore visiting members of the public with my unfailing enthusiasm for all the beautiful things surrounding us. But donāt let me lead you to believe that the house is the beginning and the end of everything Tyntesfield has to offer. The walled kitchen garden is a marvel. It is a shining example of careful planning and meticulously maintained neatness. Pumpkins swell in orderly lines and Raspberries blush in grid formation. On my last visit I was particularly taken with the lettuces, all those luscious green undulations, like very fine improper ladiesā silken underskirts.
