What a beautiful message!
Reality Check: There will always be someone thinner than you, no matter how thin you are. Aiming to be the "thinnest" "sickest" "worst" is a pointless goal because you will never achieve it.
Reality Check: Eating at night/in the morning/after working out/before working out/at someone's house/in front of people/more than your sister/even if you just ate an hour ago/more than X times per day will NOT make you gain weight. Weight gain is about calories in vs. calories out, not about where/when/what/in from of whom you eat.
Reality Check: Fat is not bad. Fat is necessary in order to absorb calcium and many other nutrients. Fat is part of a balanced diet.
Reality Check: Sugar is not bad either. Sugar helps balance cravings. If you completely avoid sugar, your cravings will only get stronger. Eat sugar when you crave it to avoid binging on it.
Reality Check: What you see in the mirror is probably distorted. Instead of body checking, create affirmations for yourself. I am strong. I am brave. I am compassionate. I am loved.
Reality Check: People care about you. I can guarantee someone out there does. Someone loves you and cares about you and it's killing someone out there to see you hate yourself and hurt yourself. Even when you think you're completely and utterly alone, you're not. Because I care and if you ever need someone, I'm here.
Trying to keep that fire burning!
I love fitblr community. No, I love healthy lifestyle/fitness community. I don’t know why, but being part of it makes me feel really special. You know, this kind of special like a hero saving town every night must feel in school where he is living normal life. It doesn’t matter if I am choosing...
Oh boy. Abs workout. It’s going to be a sea of pain, crunches, and leg lifts. Bring it on!
20 minutes of cardio! Took some advice from a fellow tumblr user and tried to run at short intervals. It ended up more like jogging, but hey, it's a start. I love how the treadmill encourages me at the end of the workout!
Positive thoughts make positive actions - have a great workout today, you guys!
Day 2!
Woke up with every inch of my body aching. And boy, that feels awesome! The pain is a reminder that I'm doing something right, that I'm one day closer to my goal - being fit. Going to drag my aching body to the gym now. It's cardio and abs day today.
Here's to being strong!
Weighed myself at the gym today. 80 kilos when I'm supposed to be 50. Oh the horror.
2 mins into running and I can't breathe. Feels terrible. Guess I gottta walk before I can run. :(
Working the pec deck!
The better I eat, the better I look. The better I look, the better I feel. The better I feel, the better I eat. I could get used to this cycle.
Now that's a cycle I can live with!
The journey begins
Being a bookworm and a couch potato all my life has turned my body into this blob. I’m 25 now. 5ft 2 inches and I weigh 80 kilos. That is not good.
I feel lethargic and lazy and even simole things like taking the stairs is a chore. I’m only 25. I shouldn’t feel this way yet. I’ve been fat all my life. Body-image demons not withstanding, there’s all the health concerns to deal with. So I’m making a change. I’m going to get healthy. I’m going to workout, eat healthy and lose 66 pounds (30 kilos). I’m going to turn my body into something I can be proud of.
This is my journey. It started today.
Setting a goal for the year. I'm going to turn my body into something I can be proud of. To be the right weight I should be for someone my height. To be able to chase butterflies. To be able to climb trees. To share my inspiration with anyone who may need it.
I've been going to the gym for a couple of months now and I've got the basics down. Now its time to up the game. I'll be tweeting about my fitness journey on twitter - @motiweightor [I'll appreciate all the cheering on I can get :) ]
