It's tricky to remember whether the phrase is "free reign" or "free rein" because they're both quite plausible when you think about the definitions. My new trick to solve this is to change it so the correct phrase is "free rain", that way you can remember it because it's the one that doesn't make any sense. Also, everyone seems to forget this, but if you’re in college, CHECK YOU LIBRARY’S WEBSITE. they usually have access to a ton of journals. Sometimes a site that says you don’t have access will work if you access it through your school’s library website.
