darling, i donât want you to love me. / i want you to be terrified.
Salma Deera, from âgirls who donât care for being touched,â Letters From Medea (via mossful)
With one burning hand she held his and with the other she kept pushing him away.
Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina (via thelovejournals)
one time he and i were sitting in bed and i said âwhere do you feel stuff?â and he said âwhat do you meanâ and i said, âhere is anxietyâ and pointed to my bottom left rib where the spiders start. he pointed to his throat. âitâs here for me.âÂ
i keep anger in my breastbone, he holds it in his hands. i feel sadness on my shoulders, he feels it in his lungs.Â
we play this game until we come to love, and i realize that i am terrified (jugular vein) of what might come. what if it is not the same. what if he feels it somewhere else, what if it is just a flash fire, not the slow burn, what if it is congealing in one place instead of radiating, i try to change topics, flight response (sternum)
he takes my hands in his and puts them over his ribs and says, âeverywhere, everywhere, like a sun is trying to escape me, like i am being consumed and you are filling up where used to be empty.â i say, âdonât be ridiculous humans are 99% empty space,â i nervous laugh (spiders down spine), he holds his gaze with me.Â
âeverywhere,â he repeats.

How can I say this without breaking? How can I say this without taking over? How can I put it down into words, when itâs almost too much for my soul alone? I loved, and I loved, and I lost you.
dcadlites:
IT grinned, âderry is⊠full of secrets. thereâre things beneath the surface that few have seen with their own eyes. youâre quite the lovely lady, miss evelyn⊠perhaps we can get to know each other some time over drinks? a little bit of⊠intimacy⊠never hurts.â as IT finished perryâs job, IT realized it had no idea how to work a cash register. just last week IT had discovered the microwave and IT was still reeling over that, so IT gave perry his control back, the body writhing for just a moment.
âwhat the⊠shit. i⊠uh⊠that⊠i donât normally⊠thatâs notâŠâ his face was red again. âsorry⊠i⊠sorry.â
She knows the boldness comes from somewhere else, something else. Itâs not the same vibes as the boy who was gently stumbling over his words earlier. She hadnât expected to encounter someone so interesting her very first day in the town. Fate worked in strange ways. She smiles at him sweetly as the innocence returns, pulling out some cash out of her pocket to pay for the transaction. âIntimacy never hurts, hm?â she teases as she pays, gathering her items together. She reaches over the counter, past him, grabbing a pen and a piece of paper, quickly jotting something down - her name and a number. She leans back over, tucks the piece of paper in his pocket with a grin. âJust so you know, I like my liquor hard. See you soon, Perry.â And with that sheâs gone, out the door without a look back.
@dcadlites
Itâs a stormy night and her body hurts, hurts, hurts. The fight was accidentally - it was over as quickly as it had begun but the damage was dealt and Evelyn found herself fleeing out into the darkness of Derry, the rain freezing against her skin. It was better than being in that house right now though. She couldnât sleep out in the open though. Not enough known about this place for that to be safe. So she finds her feet leading her to the only place, the only person, she knows that wonât hurt her. She knocks hard on the door of Perryâs home, her hair black against her skin, plastered there along with the thin clothing she wears. Itâs cold, so cold, and she knows sheâll be sick this time next week if she doesnât get warm soon. The door open, casts light on a redhead with a busted lip that cracks open into a smile. âHey. Can I stay the night?â
dcadlites:
cute? was she drunk? he scanned her things without saying much, too nervous that he would mess it up.
but then, quite suddenly, he coughed, hard, stepping back and grabbing at his throat. oh no. not IT. not again. he gagged again, gasping for air, gripping the edge of the cash register, and thenâ
âsorry about that. allergies.â the voice was the same but the cadence was all wrong. âso tell me, evelyn⊠what brings you to little derry? surely not the culture.â
She noticed the shift instantly, far more keen than normal folks. It instantly peeks her interest, but the voice in the back of her head tells her not to ask. Not yet. Thereâs secrets here in Derry, oneâs she hasnât had the time to explore. Better wait until sheâs more prepared. âYouâre fine.â she answers, placing an elbow against the counter, hand keeping her head up as she leans against it. âNo real reason. My family travels a lot. Guess it has somethinâ to do with the Gypsy blood.â She tilts her head, watches him with a glint in her eyes, âWhat keeps you here? In little olâ Derry?â
dcadlites:
he decided to stick around while the young woman was still shopping. really, she was gorgeous, and perry was a fool to think that she might possibly find him appealing. he heard voices! well, one voice really, that same voice all the time.
the question caught him off guard. âwhat? no!! i was most certainly not checking youâ oh. OH. you mean⊠yeah, yeah, sorry.â his face went four different shades of red, finally settling on i-majorly-fucked-up red. âi⊠i lied, i was checking you out. iâm perryâŠâ he flicked his nametag and smiled shyly, awkwardly. dennis snickered behind his newspaper.
When he speaks, she gets an one word as an immediate impression - virgin. She smiles, flutters her eyes downward and letâs pink tinge her freckled cheeks. Itâs not like her usual smiles, the ones that are soft, seductive, with teeth biting lip. No, this one spreads across her face easily, crinkles her eyes up. Itâs real and itâs nice. âPerry? Cute. Iâm Evelyn.â she replies as she slowly takes out all of the items and puts them on the counter. âMy family and I moved in this morning.â
@betawitch
âhey, dennis? whoâs that?â perry was doing his usual end-of-shift duties, like sweeping and wiping down the belt, when the girl walked in. the dumpy old man he was talking to, dennis oâflannery, looked up and offered a shrug.
âi dunno, perry. maybe instead of askinâ me, you should talk to her?â
âoh! oh no, i canât⊠you know, everyone thinks iâm crazy, and she probably knows that by now if sheâs planning on stayingâŠâ
The city of Derry has a certain charm to it that doesnât compare to her old childhood home - perhaps itâs the seemingly permanence of autumn, the old buildings, the rich history. After a thought, she realized that this wasnât the case. No. It was charming because it was surrounded by death. Along with a few members of the cult family, she had came and moved in early that morning. Food, however, had not yet been found in the pile upon pile of boxes, and so she was sent to fetch. A basket and a few roundabouts later and she had enough to make tonightâs meal. âAre you checking out?â She asks the seemingly skittish male; her voice has an obvious Southern accent with a tang of what can only be described as redneck in it. Itâs deep, charming, though far away, much like her thoughts in the moment.
