MOMOL NIGHTS

Just watched MOMOL Nights. The movie was fun and good, and after watching it, I realized we should never judge the love that sprouts from a simple one-night stand laid off. I laughed, cried, but most of all, I fell in love! Not your ordinary MOMOL movie 😄. I really thought it’s just another movie with a lot of bed scenes (it has). But this movie is beyond that. It’s not just all about ONS, it’s about finding a connection. It’s not just about lust, it also showed how a MOMOL can turn into forever ♥️. Maybe taking the risk isn’t that bad after all. Worth the watch!

MARIA

Loving wife. Caring mother. Ruthless assassin. They messed with the wrong woman.

Just watched Maria on Netflix and WOW! Badass woman can kill, female version of John Wick! I enjoyed this movie, for a long time I am waiting for an enjoyable Filipino Action Movie without being cringey. The Actors and Actresses did an amazing job in this movie. I'm glad that Filipino Action Movies are once again being made. Suddenly, I want an action movie ala Charlie’s Angels starring Cristine Reyes, Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin 🔥🔥🔥.

ULAN

Muling pagbangon. Pagsisimula ng bagong buhay.

So, I just watched Ulan this morning and WOW! My heart is overwhelmed because I am Maya, we all are Maya at some point. Love is haunting and fucking beautiful at the same time y’all. Also, I love how this film is so Filipino. This is the kind of Filipino movie that we all should looked for, a quality film that will exceeds our expectations in all aspects. And I must say that Ulan will never disappoints us in those aspects. Others cannot appreciate this kind of movie because they are used to a typical story.

FAMILIA BLONDINA

I watched Familia Blondina last night and I absolutely love the movie. It’s just so good. One of the most hilarious, funniest and wackiest movie of the year.

I know it was a comedy but it still made me cry 😢. A mother does whatever it takes to give her family, especially her kids, a good life.

SECOND COMING

Just watched Second Coming yesterday. Smart, but feels like it’s rushing through the plot at points. What standout about this film is it breaks all the standard elements that we usually see in a local horror film. The mystery on the story will make you hook till the end of the film. It is a unique horror film offering viewers an intense build up of suspense and unsettling tension. Overall, Second Coming is a brilliant, effective and disturbing psychological horror film.

FAVORITE LINE: “May mga takot na nasa isip mo lang. Susubukan mong intindihin, kaibiganin, harapin. Pero hindi lahat ng takot nadadaan sa tapang.”

OTLUM

Just watched the movie Otlum and I’ve never been more confused. The whole story and the ending was all over the place. I thought it was good with some seriously creepy moments.

This film clearly has some issues 😂 so many questions left unanswered. I’m not even positive how I feel about the movie, it just got progressively weird the more it went on. Disappointed. I need sequel! 😂.

MARY, MARRY ME

Just watched Mary, Marry Me and it made me further realize that a Pinoy romcom does not need a sprinkle of slapstick Pinoy humor for it to be funny.

The storyline was great, it perfectly shows how siblings fight, but still be there for each other even in rough times. That you are willing to sacrifice everything just to make your love one happy even if it’s your own happiness 😏.

I’d like to commend Toni and Alex’s sisterhood ‘cause it makes the entire film very natural and realistic, I did not expect the amount of intensity served by the Gonzaga sisters. And Sam’s role as their leading man. Plus the cameo of Ruffa Mae, Mommy Pints and Seve 😍.

THREE WORDS TO FOREVER

Just had the itch to say “I Love You” to someone after watching Three Words To Forever 😭. The movie gripped my heart.

I watched it yesterday and I can’t help but cry buckets of tears because it hits home so hard 😭😭😭 what a nice movie, I’m sure anyone can relate and even cry. If you plan on watching it, I kid you not it is one of the best pinoy family movies.

It’ll made you realize how important family is. That no matter what happened, at the end of the day, your family will always be there for you despite of your failures.

FIRST LOVE

It may happen to you... anytime.

If you haven’t seen the First Love directed by Paul Soriano 😍, do yourselves a favor and watch it. I love the movie. Hollywood feels. Not your typical Star Cinema movie.

Great performances from Aga and Bea, their chemistry is on point and their acting, DAMN! Bea and Aga have told a million versions of love stories, but for them to earnestly find something different in this particular tale that is new, unfamiliar and heartbreaking testifies to the special quality of Paul Soriano’s First Love.

I’m being completely unbiased when I say I like it better than Five Feet Apart. First Love is a story at its finest. It’s on my list as one of the best romantic movie. Again, kudos to Bea and Aga. Direk Paul Soriano is superb!

WILD AND FREE

Wild And Free starts out as a regular banal local romantic movie, and then it gets progressively worse as it introduces its conflicts. Turns out the girl used to date the guy’s older half brother, who happens to be dead. This makes him insane. He hallucinates bizarre scenarios where his dead brother and his girlfriend are cheating on him. But because none of the threats are real, and the guy is ultimately forgiven for his completely unfounded jealousy, the film comes off as a defense of the fragile male ego. This culminates in a completely unforgivable act that is of course glossed over in the final stretch. And I want to stress ‘unforgivable.’ The film goes to a disgusting extreme.

EXES BAGGAGE

I just watched Exes Baggage yesterday and I am losing my mind. A second chance in love is okay, being apart or away from someone will make you grow and improve as a person. Love yourself. Because self worth and self respect is really important.

I cried three times 😭😭😭 I want to watch it again. As in now na! 😂 hahaa and I also wanted to listen to more contemporary OPM because of the film. I don’t know if y’all have seen it but I’d appreciate any suggestions/playlists 😊

Abay Babes is LOL! I was just laughing the whole time. The humor of the cast just makes me laugh so loud.

It’s been a while since we have a female-driven local comedy film. Undeniably has the most beautiful set of cast members. And every frame of the sexy comedy flick brings together gorgeous beauties such as Cristine Reyes, Roxanne Barcelo, Nathalie Hart, Kylie Verzosa and Meg Imperial.

I just watched it last night and half of the movie were just me complimenting about how beautiful Kylie Verzosa is 😍.

THE HOWS OF US

I just watched The Hows Of Us for the first time and punyeta syet! 😂 it was beautiful! It is really worth it, not even a single dull moment.

KathNiel nailed the acting performance and Star Cinema is really a great story teller! Major tearjerker for me in a long while and I’ve never CRIED SO HARD BEFORE 😭.

No doubt, Direk Cathy Garcia Molina is the BEST! I am seriously a fan of her ever since. She never fails to amaze me with her works. Now I’m excited to see the movie of Alden and Kat with Star Cinema and Direk Cathy 😊.

My heart will always be for Filipino movies.

I LOVE YOU, HATER

I watched I Love You, Hater a while back and Julia Barretto’s acting skills was great! Joshua Garcia, being the always impressive actor Joshua Garcia but it’s Julia’s time to shine here.

The film may feel all too fast but it still manages to be heartfelt in delivering its message. It is now on my fave romcom movie list 😊.

Let’s admit it, JoshLia is ♥️ I was constantly finding myself pleasantly surprised with how JoshLia brought out this kilig feeling in me 😍.Plus, I really missed watching Kris Aquino on screen. Star Cinema is back in their element of producing kilig romantic comedies! JoshLia fans will not be disappointed.

NEVER NOT LOVE YOU

Ang pag-ibig ay masarap madali forever bullsh*t

Never Not Love You is a must-watch movie. I swear. So realistic and so mature. I know it’s a bit late and I wished I have seen it in cinemas but still, congratulations to Direk Tonet for this and for the main cast who nailed it.

Nadine and James portrayed it like they really know the feeling. And we can’t deny the fact na this is really possible and might be happening to other people.

Nadine, Famas awardee, well-deserved. And ofc James, my gosh my heart hurts everytime he cries. Atay oy. Effective actor and actress 💞

THE SIGNIFICANT OTHER

The Significant Other is like any other mistress/infidelity movie that we saw before, the plot, the storyline is almost similar to other movies of the same genre, but what separated it from the rest is the performance of the actors specially with Lovi Poe and Erich Gonzales.

The movie got some raunchy and wild love scenes that surprised me because I didn’t expected it to be that way though I must commend Lovi, Tom and Erich for doing such intimate scenes masterfully and still with taste and not going over board, also kudos to Direk Joel Lamangan for that well executed love scenes in the movie.

MEET ME IN ST. GALLEN

Meet Me In St. Gallen is a must watch movie because it tells that people do come and go, you can’t expect people to wait for you just because you know they love you 😥.

The movie is basically about two characters just deeply conversing about the most random things. It’s a story of destiny, heartbreak, letting go and acceptance. It reminded me of ‘That Thing Called Tadhana’, love it.

I also love the script and the natural flow of conversations from start to end. The actors were really good! But I wanted to express how disappointing it is that a lot of people disregarded the fact that Jesse (Carlo) had a girlfriend when he slept with Celeste (Bella). Nothing makes cheating okay.
