Gonna try to participate in as much as I can in #CryptidinJuly even if it’s a simple thing!!! “Recovered Polaroids from the Point Pleasant West Virginia Mothman encounters 1967.”
The woods are lovely, dark and deep 🍃🍂
Part 2 🍃
I think I accidentally deleted half of this post so here’s part 3 and 4 again lol enjoy
Cryptida for #CryptidInJuly, which I'm super behind on, but only because I started work again this week and spent the better part of the beginning of July feeling my body turn to dust.
Left is Mothman, right is a Bunyip.
“In an interview with KUOW radio, Goodall, who is famous for her work with wild chimpanzees, said that she is open to the possibility of Bigfoot’s existence. “I guess I’m romantic, ” she said. “I don’t want to disbelieve.” Goodall said that one of the main reasons for her open mind is that she’s heard stories about Bigfoot sightings from those who have absolutely no reason to lie. On a visit to Ecuador, for example, Goodall asked a group of local hunters about the mysterious creature. “All I said was, ‘Ask if he’s seen a monkey without a tail.’ I didn’t say anything more than that … four of those hunters said, ‘Oh yes, we’ve seen a monkey without a tail. It’s about six foot tall and it walks upright.’” As for what exactly that creature could be, again, Goodall is open to the possibilities. “It’s bizarre that we’ve never found any remains,” Goodall said. “Maybe it’s a spiritual creature. The closest I come when I think about ‘what could it be’ is like the remnant of Neanderthals.” “I think to have an element of mystery in life is very, very important,” she said.”

Alright
I want to talk about how cryptozoology is often toxic for Natives interested in it. I personally love cryptozoology, but I'm often uncomfortable while going through it because of how much content with w*ndigo, sk*nwalkers, or thunderbirds in it. So I can't stress enough to those involved in cryptozoology, please stop adding these spirits in with cryptids. Mothman, Jersey Devil, Nessie are all cryptids, but not Native spirits.
Have some cryptid hours art.
Sadly had to post on mobile which know makes the post a Lil funky but have some of mothman and them Fresno boys.

Cryptid of the Day: Nsanga
Description: Deep within the swamps of Zambia’s Bangweulu, there are stories of a massive crocodile dubbed the Nsanga. Theories range from a surviving Sarcosuchus, to a new species of monitor lizard, to aquatic saber tooth cats, to misidentified normal sized crocodiles.
