... “Did dad visit you a lot when you were growing up? He must have been a busy bee, going between at least three daughters,” she commented as she followed Punzie inside and slipped off her shoes. She couldn’t help but wonder if all the gods -or any of the other ones, really- were so attentive to their demigod children. She would have to ask around. “Have you been on the island long, Shuhua?”
Shuhua opened the door and made a soft sound of beckoning, hastily removing her shoes and making her way in so that the guide dog could follow suit. “What’s his... or her name?” She asked carefully, gently petting the furry friend on the head while looking around for a bowl suitable for providing drinking water. “I’ve never had a dog in my apartment before.”
She wondered if she should somehow try to guide her sister towards her couch, and hesitated between letting the puppy do the work and taking her hand and showing her the way. She decided on the latter, giving her arm a soft tug when a soft seat was right beneath Jinae. “Dad showed up every other weekend as a middle-aged Taiwanese man. I wondered how much all those plane tickets must have costed, now that I think about it...!” She learned much later that he had children spread all over the globe, yet she never thought about how their father made time to see every one of his own. She glanced over at Jinae curiously, now properly studying her features. She was so pretty, she thought to herself, and a small blush crept up on her cheeks. “What about you? What did you and dad used to do together?”
