An important distinction: in all of Garou’s already low self-esteem, and shattered self-image and sense of self-worth (deliberately warped to the extremes under god’s influence), he sees himself entirely as ‘absolute evil’ now; referring to himself as an ‘IT’. Who’s no longer even a person anymore, unfit to ever deserve or need anyone’s understanding, because all he’s ‘good’ for is spreading them misery. :’) So it’s better for even Tareo’s sake that Garou vows to keep his distance. Meaning: Garou has not dehumanized others, he’s internalized (and made to think this way especially after all his trauma) dehumanizing himself.
The second distinction: Garou actually took no step to physically approach Bang here. He literally just stood there, spiraling in distant introspective thought, until Genos took initiative to make the first move for him.
