Honey I'm Home || Zoe & Dean
Zoe knew what Dean was saying was true. There had never been another option for the two of them. It was a fact that she knew she would never tire of. He meant the world to her and she was the same to him. They had been apart before. But it hurt more than she would ever tell him. She knew he could feel it, especially during the wars. But she always played dumb when he would ask about it. “I’m just tired of people thinking we’re weak because of this,” she said quietly, cupping his cheek with her hand. “The looks people give me sometimes. They don’t care that I’m hundreds of years older than them.” She let her thumb move across his cheek, giving him a small smile. “I wouldn’t trade this for anything. I want you to know that.”
He tensed up at her words, immediately wanted to squash anyone who made her feel less than what she was. They had survived hundreds of years together, fighting when they could, and running when they needed to. Together they had seen the world and learned to control their powers. And together they had lived countless happy lives, without fear or sorrow clouding their every thought. If other Amets thought that was a weakness, then Dean was happy to call himself the weakest man in existence. “These baby Amets don’t get it yet love. They live their lives feeling invincible, but they are always alone. They will never know the happiness and joy we have felt living side by side all these years. Like I have said hundreds of times before, I would rather feel the pain of a broken leg or bullet wound than ever have to face a world without you by my side.” Â
