do you ever think that ponyboy will look back at Johnny and Dallas in the future and wonder about the nature of their relationship when queer people become more well known/ accepted? Because all he knows at the time of the book is

- love between a boy & girl (romantic) like sandy and soda

- love between bio family members like Mr & Mrs Curtis, and his brothers

- love between dudes who are like friends/family (platonic love) like the rest of the gang

But throughout the book he realizes that Dallas is different for Johnny, and that in whatever way they both loved each other. Even if you don’t think Dallas and Johnny were IN love (which is fine but I personally do) I’m sure pony would’ve wondered after learning about queer love at least in passing

Ok this is an art account but what the ? Does anyone else feel like Cressida&Eloise (& Marina) narratives were handled strangely in pt2? 1) Eloise KNEW Cressida was about to be forced into lifelong SA and abuse by an old man, or basically imprisoned with a strange relative. And was apparently so consumed by her obsession w pen she didnt even try to help? This feels, even for eloise, extreme. Then Cressida hurt no one by pretending to be Whistledown and didn’t know the real author at the time--but eloise cuts her off? and later didn’t expose Penelope to the queen even though she could have. She asked for money she NEEDED to be free that the Bridgertons HAD. And it makes sense why Pen or Colin would not give her the money, but Eloise could have given Cressida the money anyway even after Penelope came forward because she knows the stakes. But she was apparently fine with Cress' fate and the frienship was chocked up to pettiness? And then the audacity to talk of changing the world when she could have started with her friend? 2)Not to mention the only person actually EVER tangibly harmed by Whistledown, Marina, never got an apology and was erased from the story. Pen apologized to COLIN for not telling him directly about Marina, when it's MARINA's life that would have been completely ruined if the brother hadn't deux ex machina'd the day. I’m so frustrated by the direction pt2 took.

It felt like this season thought it was about themes of growth, forgiveness, and women unlearning how society pitted them against each other. But while pt2 picked up new characters to explore this with (Pen's mom), it dropped pt1 arcs and previous arcs completely. I think it would've made more sense for Eloise's character at the end of pt1 to give Cress some $ to flee, or for Cress to actually apologize to Pen for the bullying, or for Pen to actually apologize to Marina for almost getting her thrown pregnant into the street.
