The difference in fan reactions to lore from Ren compared to Martyn is so funny it’s like image their lore as one big play and they step out in the last scene

Ren goes on stage and dramatically announces that the main character died before he ever got to express his feeling for his true love with tears dramatically steaming down his face. The crowd stands up in a standing ovation as they throw hundreds of flowers on stage, people shout how wonderful the play was, men and women alike are in awe. He gets a few playful heckles about hurting people’s feelings, but overall the crowd loves it and spend the entire year telling anybody who will listen how amazing the play was and how Ren has reinvented theater for the fifth time.

Martyn goes on stage and announces that the main character died before confessing his true feelings to his love with the biggest shit eating grin on his face, the crowd stands and all simultaneously start throwing anything they have directly at him. He laughs as the screams of agony fill the room, half the building is on fire, the other half is flooded with tears. Cherri gets on stage and begins to beat him with a stick, the people will never recover from this. People who watched the play will go on to make the most beautiful pieces of art to ever grace the planet and call it shit like “what could have happened if Martyn wasn’t a bitch” while throwing thousands of dollars at Martyn to make another with sticky notes saying how big of an inspiration he is.

as always i have to interrupt everyone’s happiness with angst. So imagine, just imagine, the joy that ctimene felt knowing that her brother was alive and rushing to the palace. Penelope and Odysseus finish their song and the door is immediately slammed opened by Ctimene who throws her hands around Odysseus and hugs him. Only Odysseus can’t hug her back, he just can’t. And Penelope knows, by just looking at her husband, that the phrase “trading friends like objects” meant so much more than she thought. And there is weight in the air as Ctimene pulls out and asks “Where’s Eurylochus?”

Saw someone say that we (Epic fans/winions) should start using the Sagas in our vernacular the same way swifties use the Eras. This is my interpretation of what they would each mean:

I'm in my Troy Saga = I've recently gone through an ethical dilemma that I am still unsure I made the right decision in but for now I am going to attempt to "greet the world with open arms"

I'm in my Cyclops Saga = I am literally out here just trying to survive OR I have just suffered a deep personal loss

I'm in my Ocean Saga = I am facing the consequences of someoness actions (they may or may not be my actions)

I'm in my Circe Saga = (I have a few options for this one so bare with me) it is my belief that men are pigs / I've turned to drug based solutions / I miss my wife :(

I'm in my Underworld Saga = I'm undergoing deep inner conflict (I'm the monster rawr rawr rawr)

I'm in my Thunder Saga = I have hit rock bottom and yet things still keep getting worse

I'm in my Wisdom Saga = (another one with a few options) I got in a fight and I didn't die :) / I suddenly found myself being mentored by a badass older woman / I am trapped in an unescapable situation

I'm in my Vergence Saga = I miss my wife >:( / I no longer have any moral hang ups regarding how I reach my goals

I'm in my Ithaca Saga = I have finally reached my goal - despite all the setbacks, all the suffering, and all the ways in which I have changed as a person I have finally made it home
