Peace. Love. & Kale. Make that alot of kale!! Is breastfeeding cravings a thing?? When pregnant I craved salads like there was no tomorrow, but I never craved a kale. Now that I am nursing, all I want is kale and lots of it!! I am like the Cookie Monster for kale. It's not normal.
I’ve got my hands full, but so is my heart. Everyday Ewan is becoming more and more like a baby. From rolling over to cooing and even smiling. Oh that sweet, sweet smile of his could warm even the coldest of hearts. His eyes radiate light and look as though they are changing from slate to blue. Blue eyed baby?? Yeah… I may have grown this little monkey in my belly but he sure didn’t get any of my genes. He looks more and more like his daddy everyday. Ewan is now enjoying his bath time and loves when mommy and daddy stand him up on his little feet!! He loves his yoga class and is starting to sleep more through the night, which is a huge bonus for me. We love our little baby!
Photos of our maternity shoot, it was a rather still afternoon so we had to exaggerate the wind. In short it resulted in Rory throwing my dress around while being taken out by the waves.
As a baby is born, so are parents. Our life has changed but in the best of ways. Everyday brings a new challenge with great rewards. I have mastered the two minute shower and I wear the spit up look very well. It adds sparkle to my style. Nights are never ending. Days go by way too fast. This past month has been a whirlwind. My newborn is becoming more and more like a baby everyday. He is now fitting into his 3 month old clothes and holding his head up. Why do they have to grow so fast. He's making eye contact and starting to take in this new world around him. He's even smiling. Or maybe it was the gas he just passed. Let's go with authentically smiling at mommy. Ewan has met both his loving grandparents. He is mesmerized by grandma Marion's Scottish accent. We take him out to dinner with us and surprisingly he does awesome. He doesn't make a peep. Though I sit on the edge of my chair with my heart pounding that at any moment he's going to burst out crying and everyone is going to stare at us. Confession. He did cry once. Putting him in the car is like a magic trick. One moment he is screaming, the next he is out for the count. He is not a fan of bath time. In fact I am pretty sure he hates it. Our golden retriever is very protective of Ewan. She wont leave his side. Whisky, well he just loves to give him sweet kisses on his feet. Rory and I are in love with our chunky monkey. A love we can't describe. Happy one month my sweet son.
His first sleep with proud parents, all the emotions are amplified from severe sleep deprivation to pure joy.
Baby Ewan is his natural habitat.
