Otto’s first departure for Hogwarts was meant to be a day of joy.
And yet, behind the proud smiles of his parents, shadows stirred.
For Smile, the castle was not only a school… it was the place where her life had been torn apart and remade, where every corridor whispered of danger, secrets, and scars she still carried. She longed for her son to know only the wonder of magic, not the darkness that had once nearly consumed her.
Ominis, calm and measured as always, concealed his dread beneath soft words and gentle humor. What if the boy stumbled upon truths buried deep in the stone walls of Hogwarts? What if he discovered the Gaunt legacy… a name Ominis had never spoken to his child, a bloodline cursed by cruelty and obsession with the Dark Arts?
Otto boarded the train with excitement, unburdened by these fears. To him, it was the first step into adventure. To his parents, it was the beginning of a long, anxious vigil.
Both knew that Hogwarts had a way of unearthing what one most wished to keep hidden.
