they already did release a single of the official cast recording of Johanna (act II) you can find it music places! There are also some nice…alternative…versions you can find on yt where he really vocally leans into the pet names while he is slicing throats which I find to be a nice touch.

and I agree with your comment. Josh’s is the first version to make me notice that Sweeney is actively mourning Lucy the whole time he is simultaneously relishing his bloodlust. I don’t quite know how he manages to emote those 2 things at the same time.

YES! that’s such a good point it’s very family focused in this version you can hear and see his pain a lot over that in this revival! while at the same time, like you said, relishing his bloodlust. it’s actually very talented the wave of emotions josh is portraying especially through the songs and just different vocal inflections he inserts to change emotions. just love it so much!
