Genuinely why are people so surprised by the Incest ships in the Dexter fandom. Between Dexter and Brian referring to each other as Barbie and Ken. Dexter helusining Brian in a Nebraskas for lovers shirt. Also if people were getting a vibe before the fact that they were brothers was revealed I think that says something. Deb is quite literally canonically in love with Dexter and dreams of him holding his hand out to her, with marriage imagery. Dexter goes for women that subconsciously remind him of his mom. His son and Deb competing with his love interest. His last words in New Blood are something along the lines of "I never felt true love until now" about his son. He also imagines Deb in his bed in New Blood telling him that she loves him. Plus a bunch of other stuff. Also in the first episode, he says he doesn't have feelings but if he did he'd have them about Deb.

Tensions mount after a break-up with Gigi and increased security at the hotel in the wake of Ryan Foster’s murder mean that Harrison and Dexter have been sharing a bed for weeks.
When Dexter’s fantasies begin to overwhelm him, he decides to go after a man who drugs and rapes his victims before murdering them, only to get dosed, himself. Escaping the man who drugged him, he goes home. When the drugs begin to take effect, he knows that he should get away from his son–for Harrison’s safety. He also knows that there’s a lot he could blame on the drugs.
