“Ouch,” he said, grabbing his heart as if he had been detrimentally hurt. “I can get along with that, but we are having tequila at some point tonight,” he said with a smile as he sat down on the barstool. Noah chuckled lightly as he shrugged his shoulders, “I don’t know about that,” he said raising an eyebrow before letting a content smile sit on his face. “Chicago, originally. Move to California when I was 16 and somehow ended up in Dayton. He looked at the bartender and smiled and ordered himself a tequila sunrise. “What about yourself?” he said, turning to the girl.
Amber couldn’t help but laugh at his theatrics. At the mention of tequila a small smile appeared on her face, “I can definitely do that, but it has to be gold tequila because I have too many horror stories with clear.” She admitted. Amber made her self comfortable as she listened to where he was from. “I’ve actually never been to Chicago, but I’ve always wanted to see the bean.” Typical touristy stuff, but it was true. Amber put a strand of hair behind her ear before letting her fingers play with the edge of her cosmo. “I moved here from Manhattan, that’s where I lived as long as I can remember honestly.” She grabbed her drink as she saw the bartender bring Noah’s over. “To new places, cheers.” She said with a small smile.

Roman gave her an expression like she sounded crazy, asking him if he was going to wear the iconic feather jumpsuit, as if he’d ever negate that little detail. “Of course I am! I have the bedazzled dodgers stadium outfit as well, because if I’m doing this, I’m goin’ all out.” He started the car, and pulled out of the parking lot without even asking her where they were going. That probably would have been a good idea. “I’ll save you a ticket. And, it’s no problem at all. Some dudes are just straight up ass hats around here. I have no idea where the mindset comes of thinking that stalking a girl is gonna win them over.” He scoffed, and then quickly realized he had no idea where he was going. “Oh. Where do you live?” He laughed.
Amber’s eyes opened wide as he looked at her as if she was crazy before laughing to herself. “If you’re going to do something you might as well do it right, that’s always been my motto. I love that, that’s iconic.” She smiled as they got into the car. Amber put on her seatbelt before pointing at him, “I’m going to hold you to that because I definitely want to see you jam to ‘I’m still standing’.” Amber sighed, “Right! Since when did romance turn into stalking? That shit is not cute,” she said, shaking her head. Now it was easier to shit talk instead of when she was actually fearing for her life. “Park 12,” she said, hoping that he knew where that was. “You take a right at the next light, I’m pretty sure.” She was still new around town and when she was booking it away from the creepy guy she got a little lost.
khylercourtier
Human contact was something that Khyler constantly craved. Even if it did come in the form of random acts from kind strangers, it was graciously welcomed. As he lead her away from the guy who was creepily stalking her, he let out a small chuckle. “Well, lucky me then” he grinned. If wrapping his arm around a beautiful woman was all he had to do to help her out, he would gladly keep himself at her beck and call. “It’s really no problem at all. I’m glad I could help” he said honestly. Stopping once they were a safe enough distance away from the strange guy. “I’m Khyler by the way, and you are?”
Amber had been kind of freaked out that it took her a second to process it all. She was just glad that she was getting away from the creepy guy that seemed to be following her from blocks on end. She chuckled lightly to herself as she felt at least a little more comfortable even if it was in the arms of a stranger, at least he had helped her out. As they seemed to get further and further away from the location, she took a deep breath as she flashed him a smile. “It’s truly nice to meet you, Khyler. I’m Amber,” she said, feeling like she was finally able to breathe. “God, that was so uncomfortable,” she admitted as she ran her fingers through her hair finally noticing how cute he was. It only really made her more nervous, “Ah, can I make up to you?” she said, pointing to a bar that was at the end of the street.
ohnellies
“oh, i’ve been thinking of getting one.” in general. nellie had never actually had a dog that was her own. by the time she was born her siblings were old enough and their family dog was old too. and then her sisters, when they had their own lives, got their own pets. she lived vicariously through them. and then, when she lived in manhattan she couldn’t get one because of her apartment’s rules. but now? she might need a dog. to keep her company. maybe to help her with her own struggles to keep her head above water lately with her trauma. “i’m cornelia. nellie.” she grinned, whispering her own name back as they continued walking down the streets.
“oh my gosh, no pressure, but if you walk out with a dog i’ll literally die of happiness,” she couldn’t help but smile wide. “they’re the best company!” she said excitedly. to be fair, amber had been spending a lot of time with her dog since she moved from new york, but mostly because she didn’t know a lot of people. it just made her more thankful for having one in the first place. “i love your name,” she whispered back with a smile as she followed happily next to the girl. as they walked further and further from the guy that had been following her she felt herself at ease. taking a deep breath before smiling, “i don’t know if you were serious or not, but i’d totally love to check out the place that you know to get a dog. if you aren’t busy,” she added, knowing that people had lives and things to do around here unlike herself who was currently unemployed.

“I am! We’re working on Rocketman.” Ro informed her, as if she was supposed to automatically get what he meant by that. “Like the movie, Elton John - y’know. Jus’ a more theater friendly version. I’m playing the lead, and directing.” He smirked, obviously kind of proud of himself, because they really had been working so hard on it, and he wanted it to be a hit. “I’m hoping if we can get a big buzz about it, I’ll be considered to write the theater adaptation to be used widespread.” Okay, now he was being a bit much. She asked a simple questions, she didn’t need to know every single detail. “I swear it’s no trouble. I’d rather drive you than wonder if you made it home okay.” He pointed to his car, which was just a few spots over. “I’m jus’ right there.”
“That’s super exciting! Elton John and John Reid were a hot mess, somehow in the best and worst way.” Amber beamed a smile, “No way, congrats on both. Are you going to wear the iconic feather jumpsuit? Because I have to see that.” Despite taking a step back from the entertainment business, she always loved it so she totally understood the smirk on his face, he had every right to be proud of his work. “Imagine! That would be totally amazing. Talk about a big break, unless you’ve already done that, then my apologies. I’ll definitely check it on opening weekend, front row.” For a second, Amber’s mind had drifted from the fact that she had been followed for what felt like forever. She at least felt comfortable enough getting his car now. That and it didn’t hurt to make friends since she was very new in town. “Thanks, I really appreciate it,” she nodded as she followed behind him to his car.

Noah rose his eyebrow at the brunette, “First round on me? Here I was thinking I was a knight in shining armor,” he joked before laughing lightly. He tilted his head, motioning towards the bar as he smiled. Noah nodded his head, “Yeah, I’m pretty new as well, but that was by far the worst thing I’ve seen. Well other than the underage drinking, the cocaine in the bathrooms, and everything else.” he couldn’t help but smile. He didn’t realize it at first when he had crashed into town, but he was slowly starting to pick up that the town was a lot more lenient than other places that he had been around. There was hardly any law enforcement to apply the rules, at least that he saw.
“Yeah, well knights should still have to buy the first round,” she said laughing as she followed behind him to the bar. Amber couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows, “Really?” she said, shaking her head a bit. “Damn, well I guess then what happened to me was probably just another Tuesday night around here,” she half-joked. “Where are are you from?” she said, sitting at the bar stool as she tapped her fingers lightly before the bartender came and she ordered a cosmopolitan.
ohnellies
cornelia was always good at making fast friends. maybe it had to do with her acting ability. she was good at switching in and out of characters, and it was easy to do so. so this girl plucking her off the street and asking this of her? it was like a role to play. but also a good idea, since cornelia was still new to town and wanted to make some friends. if she had friends, she’d feel better about being in town without anybody who she knew. “right? like what kind of a day with puppies would be bad?” she laughed, grinning at the other girl as she locked arms with her and led her in the direction of the shelter she’d passed earlier that day. she didn’t know how well the other knew the town, but nellie was just lucky she knew somewhat of the town. she slightly shook her head, “don’t worry about it.” she whispered with a smile.
“I think it’d be physically impossible,” she smiled as she locked arms with the brunette and followed as the other lead. “i’ve actually been thinking of getting another pupper and this is more than tempting,” she said with a smile, already forgetting the creepy guy that had been following her for more than a couple blocks. amber lead in slightly before smiling, “i’m amber, by the way,” she said under her breath as she gave a quick peek behind them to see if they were still being followed, but it looked like seeing her with another person caused the guy to panic which really let the weight of the stress get off her shoulders.

“That so? Well, if y’ever feel like trying it again, I kinda of run a theater company downtown. Not run it, but like, direct and act there.” He informed her, realizing that this was probably a weird time to plug that, but whatever. When she mentioned walking though, of course the gentlemanly part deep down inside of him wanted to offer her a ride, cause like…she’d already been worrying about some creepy stalkery dude, so why make her walk home alone? “I can give ya a ride, if y’want?” He offered as innocently as possible.
“Really? That’s awesome. I might give it another go now that my schedule opened up,” she laughed, mostly at herself because her currently schedule consisted of walking her dog and working out. “Are you currently directing or acting in any plays?” she asked curiously, she wouldn’t mind going to see one as she really enjoyed the atmosphere. Amber looked around her for a second, her current options were walking home alone with a creepy guy that was on her or take a ride from a semi-friendly stranger... she’d have to take those chances. “Only if you don’t mind, you’ve already done more than enough tonight,” she said honestly.
avasinclaire
Ava had been in to many situations over her lifetime to not know how to defend herself. And, well, when one was a sex worker – one learned how to defend themselves just in case. And in this moment, she was very glad she knew how to protect herself and this other woman. When she was sure the other man had left them alone she released her grip on Amber and smiled. “Never a problem Amber, and now, were actual friends.” she chuckled. “I’m just happy I was there to help in the first place. Don’t want to even think about what could have happened if I hadn’t been.” she said with a shiver.
Amber breathed a little easier as they had clearly put enough distance between the guy and themselves. She couldn’t help but smile at the other for getting her to safety, she truly appreciated it to say the least. For a second there she didn’t know what the hell was going to happen, but she was glad she didn’t have to imagine anymore. “I can get behind that,” she flashed the other a smile. “Oh gosh,” she said running her fingers her through her hair, “It was running through my head, but I don’t even want to think about it now. I’m just glad I don’t have to anymore. Thank you, seriously. I seriously wish I could re-pay you somehow. Thank you, seriously.”
khylercourtier
The last thing Khyler expected after a long exhausting shift, was for some random girl to come up to him and wrap her arms around him. Oddly enough he felt quite comfortable about it though. Especially since the girl smelt of sweet magnolias. “Uhm..” he hummed softly, a bit confused. Her words instinctively causing him to look around. He could see the guy in the very near distance, lingering like a fly among fruit and he gave the brunette a smile. “Sure, yeah. Of course” he nodded. A soft smile spreading across his lips as he hooked his arm around her waist and lead her away. “So, you have this problem often? Or is this just my lucky day?” he asked, tone light with playful sarcasm.
Hugging a random stranger probably wasn’t the safest option in the book, but not knowing anyone in town left Amber with few options. Her heart beat started to beat as he hummed, almost sure that she was going to be left standing in the middle of the street. Yet as he nodded and painted a smile on his face, she did the same. She let herself be lead away from the creepy guy who seemed to be backing off now that she was with someone. Amber couldn’t help but laugh lightly at his question, “Consider it your lucky day I guess,” she said with a small smile. “Thank you for being so cool about it all. You had me thinking for a second you were about to ditch me there,” she half-teased.
realbilliecooper
Billie was a little lost in thought, or well, maybe zoned out was a better thing to say. She maybe have eaten an edible before leaving the house and it hitting just right when a stranger came up and hugged her. A little taken a back, it took her a second to process what was happening before the girl explained. Hearing that snapped her into action. “Oh my god, there you are!” she said enthusiastically as she returned the hug as if they were old friends. “Yes, let’s blow this popsicle stand, babes.” She let go of the girl before hooking her arm around the other’s and leading them down the opposite way of where they had come from. “Are you okay?” she asked under her breath when they put some distance between them and the man.
Amber knew that going up to a random stranger asking for help was probably taking risk as well, but she didn’t know anyone in town and at least the woman that she had stopped in her tracks looked kind enough to help her. As she played along, Amber let a sigh of relief as she tried to put on a small smile on her face. “I’m so ready,” she exaggerated a bit as she hooked her arm and followed as she was being pulled away from the creepy guy that had been following her for a couple blocks. She was tempted to look back, but was glad that she was being asked a question to at least get distracted. “Oh, yeah, a lot better. Thanks for getting me out of there,” she said quietly as she gave her a small smile. “Fucking asshole,” she said under her breath before shaking her head. “Not to be that person, but men are trash 2/3′s of the time.”

“Ah, it’s fine, I was a champion in the Improv category when I was competing in uni theater - which, maybe I shouldn’t advertise since that was by far the worst acting job I’d ever done in my life.” He watched her for a moment, unsure if she was actually heading home now, or like, if he was? It was all just a confusing mess at this moment. “Do you want me to like follow behind you on your way home to make sure he doesn’t follow you or something? Not that me, a total stranger as well, following you home sounds much better, but I’m sure you could kick my ass.” He chuckled.
“No, it was great. Got me out of trouble,” she added with a smile. “That’s super cool, I tried to dip my feet into acting, but I quickly learned that it was way better if I just stayed in my lane,” she admitted. Amber bit her lip, not sure what she should do in the moment, but the last thing she wanted was the creep to follow her home so she figured she’d take her chances. She put her hands up as if she was boxing, “Oh yeah, baby, I throw a mean punch,” she couldn’t help but laugh. “If you want, but you don’t have to. I kind of walked here though,” she mentioned.
Did he hold any complaints over suddenly being hugged by a beautiful girl? Nope, absolutely not. The fact that that wasn’t a thing that happened more often was actually quite a tragedy. However, the girl seemed really freaked out. So while Jonny did have his dickhead moments, he was quick to feel protective over this girl. “I gotcha,” he whispered before grinning brightly. “There you are!” he exclaimed loudly, returning the hug. “I was starting to worry about you. Did you forget to check the time again? Silly goose, you.” Keeping his eye on the stranger that had been stalking her, he lowered his voice: “Okay, is there anyone I can call who can come get you? Dude is a major creep and I’m ready to fight him.”
“Oh, you know me, always running a few minutes late.” She gave him a soft smile as she mouthed ‘thank you’ softly to him as he went along with her story. Amber shook her head, “Oh, no you don’t have to do that, I don’t want you to get hurt or anything. Ah,” she looked around. It was probably not the safest thing to let a stranger know that she was new in town and didn’t know a single soul so there really was no one to call to come get her, but there weren’t many options at the moment. “I’m kind of new here and unless my dog learned how to drive, ah I’m kind of... stuck at the moment.”
noahxgriffin
“They really just make you want them more,” he half-joked along as he walked away from the creepy man. While Noah was still getting used to Dayton, he would have thought that creepy men following women was more of a city thing, but then again, he figured creepy men had no boundaries. As she sighed in relief, Noah furrowed his eyebrows, “I’d feel too shitty saying you’re welcome because you shouldn’t even have to deal with shit like that. Noah,” he said, extending his hand. “We can get a drink and kill some time while that creepo leaves,” he suggested.
Amber couldn’t help but laugh, “Still, thank you for helping me out.” At least the guy looked like he could handle himself if a fight broke out, so she didn’t feel too bad about dragging him into her situation. “Nice to meet you, Noah.” Amber looked around for a second before she nodded her head, “Yeah, sure, but you’re buying the first round,” she laughed as she headed towards the bar. She sighed deeply, finally feeling that she could breath for a second. “I’m still getting used to town, but that was by far the creepiest thing that has happened to me in a minute.”
