I don’t usually post this kind of stuff on my own blog, I typically just comment in other blogs and post fun stuff here.
But…it’s Rant Time! It’s Defend Luke Newton Time!

It is astounding to me that there are people out there, and in particular in the Bridgerton fandom who believe Luke Newton is undeserving of recognition. For his acting, for his singing, for just being Luke.
Have you people actually watched Luke in Bridgerton? Did you see the incredible raw emotion he brought to Season 3?
Have you seen how real he was when he played a terrified Billy in Lake Placid: Legacy? Or a fun-loving sometimes heartbroken Ben in Disney’s The Lodge? Or a wheeling-dealing kid in The Cut?
Go watch his performance in The Shape of Things, even just clips of Luke that you can find, and dare to tell me this man is not one hell of a talent and puts all he has into every single one of his characters.
Listen to him sing. Any clip that you can find of him on the internet. There are tons! Rewrite the Stars and Same Place, Same Time are particular favorites of mine.
Someone book this man for Broadway PRONTO!
Like with his acting, you can feel the passion bursting through as he sings. Listen to him speak about his acting roles and his passion for musical theatre.
Luke Newton is more than deserving of accolades and recognition for the many projects he has given himself to.
It is so disappointing and quite disgusting frankly to see so many spread hate about him just because maybe he’s not your favorite actor, or Bridgerton character, or he’s associated with Nicola, or you’re mad about papgate.
I firmly believe that because of those behind the June 13 premiere drama, Luke went underground and sadly, it impacted the recognition he should have received for his phenomenal performance as Colin in S3.
And sadly many of the Luke haters have continued even months later to say he’s lazy, no good, sleezy and doesn’t care about anything but having a good time.
What’s even more sad is many who adored Luke before papgate turned on him immediately and started to spout all this nonsense about him too.
If that is you (oh I know who you are! I’ve been around this fandom a while!), you were never a fan of Luke’s to begin with. And we all know you’ll be fake as f*** to his face if you ever got the chance to meet him in person.
Alas, I digress. These people will never own up to their grossness and their unwarranted agenda of hate against Luke.
It’s one thing to prefer other actors or singers over another, but to actually spread continuous vitriol about Luke without any valid reason is petty and childish.
I hope you or your loved ones (most especially your children because I know many of you are goddamn adults and parents acting this way!!) never ever experience the gross behavior you direct at Luke in your own life.
I will say this to close. Luke is not my favorite actor or singer ever.

I’ve been on this earth a long time to have accrued many a favorite celebrity, and I certainly know a talented actor/singer when I see/hear one.
Luke is that! He is a handsome, genuine, funny, talented actor and singer who deserves to be acknowledged, recognized, awarded for all he gives to his craft.
I challenge some of you who are spreading hate about Luke to others or directing it right at him on his IG (WTAF is wrong with you!) to actually ask yourself why you hate him so much.
Because I can say with a great amount of certainty that it isn’t actually because you think he’s not talented.
Oh and I hope he blocks your ass the first chance he gets if he ever sees what you say about him online.

The BBC is today announcing that Matt Smith is to leave Doctor Who after four incredible years on the hit show. Matt first stepped into the TARDIS in 2010 and will leave the role at the end of this year after starring in the unmissable 50th Anniversary in November and regenerating in the Christmas...
It’s been an honour to play this part, to follow the legacy of brilliant actors, and helm the TARDIS for a spell with ‘the ginger, the nose and the impossible one’. But when ya gotta go, ya gotta go and Trenzalore calls. Thank you guys.
