Racism will not scare us!
Some people say “Make America great again” while others ask “when was it ever?” It’s true that the United States has a very dark history but that does not mean it is not great. It was seen as the greatest country in the world because of one thing… Freedom. Compared to the other countries back then we had the most freedom, if not complete freedom. People RISKED THEIR LIVES to be here. The American Dream is what made this country great. Racism has always been here and this election as shown that it will always be here. It doesn’t matter though because we have always survived racism. After the white settlers, every other immigrant whether they came here freely or forcefully, has suffered from racism and prosecution. Yet we survived. We survived slavery, segregation, and violent attacks. People SUPPORTING us have suffered with us as well but they have proven that we CAN unite and live together. I can never understand why there is so much hate and racism. Why to some people it is a crime to love us. Those racists will NEVER understand the love WE have for this country. THEY HAVE NOT SUFFERED FOR THIS COUNTRY LIKE WE HAVE. This is more our country than it is to those racist bastards. Our families left everything behind and risked their lives to be here. They will never know the struggle to start over in another country, ALONE, to be hated just for being here. They are jealous because we are survivors. We can start from NOTHING and become GREAT. We not only fight for our struggles but we fight for this country’s struggles. Minorities are in the military and it hurts us to know that so many people we fought for hate us. I think they are the ones who are hurt most of all by this racism. They GIVE their lives for this country and for it’s people and people are talking about ASSAULTING their families! I have friends who served in the military who are heartbroken by this hate that people have for them. It’s DISGUSTING. People are telling us to get out of this country and people are so afraid that they have actually looked at the options of moving to a different country. I thought about it too and I still think about it but you know what, this is MY country. This is where I was born and raised. I will not let myself be scared out of my country. I will fight for my rights and for everyone else’s rights. To those racists out there who are telling us to leave and threatening our lives, wait. Wait and see us survive your abuse. AS OUR HISTORY HAS PROVEN, WE WILL COME OUT ON TOP! WE WILL FIGHT FOR THE PEOPLE’S RIGHTS AND WE WILL FIGHT FOR ACTUAL FREEDOM! UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!
I always thought that president should be educated in politics but people are saying we need a businessman in office. If that is really what we need in office then it should AT LEAST be a SUCCESSFUL businessman who HASN’T filed for bankruptcy several times. I am horrified and disappointed in our country for electing such a racist and sexist candidate as our president. But after listening to the political figures that I respect and reading the email that the president of my school sent, I feel less afraid. They’re all telling us that it will be okay and thinking about it, they’re right. We have been through a lot as a country and we’ve always made it through it all. I do not understand the blind racism that has shown itself this election. America was built on the blood, sweat and tears of the minority people. It was built on the genocide of the Native Americans. It was built on the enslavement of Africans. It was built on the deaths of the Chinese. It was built on Mexican land. So Texas and Arizona, you can shut the hell up because WE were here first. Our history shows that our America NEEDS immigrants to survive. The blood, sweat and tears of the minority are soaked so deep in the earth of this land that you cannot get rid of it.
