@mstgkitten
I'm still alive... and still being as cute as possible
Because I have nowhere else to post this...
When I was perceived as male, my reviews at work were always âYouâre not aggressive enough in expressing your point of view and people do not take your suggestions seriously...â
Now that I present as the woman I am, my reviews often state âYouâre too aggressive in your presentation and you should take a more humble approach and be more considerate in her approach to other employees.â
wow, just... yeah... wow.
I need to make this rant...
I have to.
I am morally obligated to.
Get the fucking A out of STEM.
I see it cropping up, it went from STEM to STEAM... Science Technology, Engineering, Math.... and they added the fucking A in for ARTS...
WHAT THE FUCK!?
Now, I love the arts and humanities peeps very well...
But it wasnât the point!
Adding the A is like saying All Subjects Matter...
Seriously... the whole point of the focus on STEM was to get girls and women to join into degree programs they were grossly underrepresented in.
There is no problem with women being represented in Arts (Except after they graduate and are disregarded because theyâre women, but, thatâs a different rant)
âHey! We see this horrible, horrible disparity between representation in these four educational fields... Letâs help the under-represented groups get in and get involved and find a love for them!â
Then some, probably yoga pants wearing soccer mom type crawls out of the woodwork and says âTHATâS DISCRIMINATORY! YOUâRE LEAVING OUT THE ARTS! ALL SUBJECTS MATTER!â
And of course... people so scared to say âYah know, this isnât about arts, because arts arenât having a problem....â instead go âOMG! HOW COULD WE DO THAT! WE NEED TO BE INCLUSIVE!!!!â
and you water down the whole movement, destroy the intent, and end up back at square one...
... you know, the square where someone said âWhy are so many girls and women concentrated in the Arts and Humanities and not engaging in Science, Tech, Engineering, and Math?â and tried to create programs to put the focus where it was needed.
some things I need to remind myself daily tbh
too real
reminder for us all

Bleh...
I got MRI results back today...
2 new lesions in my brain... and the one on my spine is bigger...
My neurologist says heâs hoping that was just base progression from the initial diagnosis before I started treatments, but Iâll have to do another full MRI in six months to know more.
But, it does explain things.
âMy first impulse, when presented with any spanking-new piece of computer hardware, is to imagine how it will look in ten yearsâ time, gathering dust under a card table in a thrift shop.â â William Gibson

yâall think this is cute and fun looking but as a bamf that drove 3,000+ miles across the country I can tell you that its not. When you get on I90 and your  GPS tells you to go straight for the next 450miles and you realize you could watch the entire Braveheart movie twice before you see anything other than cow pastures or corn fields you beg for death. I saw so much weird ass shit from towns with horses that wander like stray dogs and places where people say weird shit like âSure dont!â. America is fucking bizzaro and a trip like this is only for the most Mad Max-iest of mother fuckers.Â
hey now thereâs also 948279339 billboards for wall drug to see
I did the Northern half of this on Motorcycle when I was 20...
can there be a thing called self insert day where everybody just draws themselves hanging out with their fave fictional characters and we all have a collective party so nobody feels self-conscious about posting self insert fanart online
omg this is gaining rapid notes and everybody seems so pumped for this. Can I pick a day and we actually do this?? um. um. How about June 27&28? Self insert weekend!!! that gives ppl three weeks to prepare!! (tag things as #self insert weekend if you actually do it cuz I wanna see your guysâ drawings hehe)
That feel when...
you go to stand up, and your leg is all NOPE... and you strain your shoulder grabbing the table to prevent hitting the floor. :P
Iâm Alive!
Hope I didnât scare anyone! Needed a break, needed to change internet service providers, needed to breathe a little bit!
Sorry for the radio silence!
(I refuse to have social media apps on my phone....!)
This adorable little robot is designed to make sure its photosynthesising passenger is well taken care of. It moves towards brighter light if it needs, or hides in the shade to keep cool. When in the light, it rotates to make sure the plant gets plenty of light. It even likes to play with humans.
Oh, and apparently, it gets antsy when itâs thirsty.
The robot is actually an art project called âSharing Human Technology with Plantsâ by a roboticist named Sun Tianqi. Itâs made from a modified version of a Vincross HEXA robot, and in his own words, itâs purpose is âto explore the relationship between living beings and robots.â
I donât care if itâs silly. I want one.
