; girls’ night out
with @msudotty
taking a long look through the window, liz sighed, an obvious sign of boredom as she dusted the pristine glass of the shelf behind her. there hasn’t been a customer ever since 5 pm and she was already counting down the minutes for her shift to end because in all honesty there weren’t many people interested in buying music instruments that day (and secretly she wondered if that wasn’t the very reason she picked a part-time job like that, one that wasn’t give her a hard time nor would clash with her academic duties). it was friday night and most people were looking forward to a good time at the nightowls or the orbit theater and even though her thoughts weren’t in any of those hot spots, she did feel like doing something as soon as she was free to leave.
checking if hale didn’t have his ears and eyes on her, she took her phone, sending a quick text to one of the few girls that wouldn’t refuse spending time with her.
✉️ >> lady d: my shift ends in 30 minutes.
✉️ >> lady d: wanna go out and eat/talk?
✉️ >> lady d: kinda miss you since halloween.
dotty is bored. imagine that — bored on a friday night! this should definitely be illegal. dotty sighs as she thinks about all the possible things she could be doing right now, out with her sister, or callie, or, a new, hot guy, maybe even—
oh? before she even manages to contemplate all the possibilities for what she could be doing tonight, her thoughts are interrupted by texts trickling in on her phone, the screen lighting up with notifications from my dearest lizzie ❣️.
( outgoing owlet → my dearest lizzie ❣️ )
dotty: Ooooh!! Yes!! dotty: Elizabeth Hwang, you have no idea how bored I am right now 😭 you saved me from death by boredom! Oh wouldn’t that just be dreadful? dotty: Anyway I will be right there! See you soon ❤️
and, true to her word, no more than 25 minutes later (because, being on time is being late, is her firm belief), dotty walks through the door of hale’s music shop, brimming with excitement to finally be spending some quality time with her friend.
“liz!” she calls out, walking up to the younger as she promptly ignores the glare given to her by daniel hale, who probably hadn’t been accounting for another customer, much less one as loud as her. “oh, i’m so excited you texted me! i was bored beyond belief. and it’s a friday! you well and truly saved me, elizabeth.” dotty’s face is radiant as she smiles at her friend. “so, where to?”
