location — haunted house ( for now )

heeled purple boots paced back and forth in one of the empty hallways. nails softly tapping against the glass bottle containing her trick or treat surprise. felix felicis. a potion not unfamiliar, just one she hadn’t needed much in life. bottom lip tucked between her teeth in concentration as she studied it. trying so hard to figure out why she felt nervous, was her own brain hiding things from her now? it’s possible. perhaps it knew something nisa didn’t. she wondered momentarily what she was about to get herself into. the hwaseong stopped her cycled pacing. popping open the lid and swirling around the liquid within, watching as it glimmered. that was when she decided to swallow it, not doubting anymore. just doing.
a blink. then she could feel the buzz of magic flooding her system. reassurance and knowing. making her let go of anything holding her back. she tucked the potion bottle nimbly into her bag and flicked her daphne red ‘for the night’ hair over her shoulder. it was only a few seconds later that she took off, so sure of where she wished to go. where to find him.
it was starting to become clear to her that she wouldn’t be able to bed this curiosity. one that had been nagging at the back of her mind. making her feel things she shouldn’t, but she was used to getting into trouble. she had luck on her side tonight. plus, her extra boost of birthday ego still resided. nisa needed to know, had to know. the whimsy and sound of hallows eve so loud and joyous around her. splashes of water from the apple bobbing, the smell of cinnamon and pumpkins in the air. laughter and loud ‘BOOS!’. some butterbeer called her name, but she couldn’t get distracted. not as her destination came into view.
something in her paused as she got to the back entrance of the haunted house. telling herself it was just going to be this once. halloween was the perfect cover as she entered, the darkness shrouding her. following the gut feeling of where will was in this place. hoping to merlin and back none of the haunters in here made her yelp. luckily, she didnt. with a turn she bumped into a solid figure and jumped, careful to cover her mouth from making any noise or apologizing. eyes only sort of adjusting to the darkness.
the whisper of nerves coming back as she slowly reached out to see where it was he stood, feeling the darkness like a mime until aha! found you hair and then shoulders. ones that felt all broad and strong, hm definitely will — stop that, don’t be stupid. she cursed herself. she had a mission! one that had a time limit, risks, so many risks. the main one being the fact that she couldn’t let him see her. waiting, so hard that she almost couldn’t breath. would he push her away? pull her closer? yell? there was at least a 50 / 50 chance of yelling. she couldn’t utter one word and it was too late to care if it was a bad idea. she was committed to it now.
unlike his brother, will had always ( for the most part ) loved halloween. mostly because he doesn’t get to have so much candy any other day of the year, but also because of his interest in ghosts and other supernatural legends and creatures. his favorite movies were old cheesy horror movies and dressing up just seemed fun. he hadn’t had a reason to do it in years, so this was especially exciting for him. it took him back to his younger years— the good parts— and it was more than a welcome experience.
even though he was doing his best to stay focused on the moment and enjoying himself, there was a bit of guilt that followed him around as he thinks about who he blew off just so he could have this freedom tonight. he doesn’t mean to be an asshole, sometimes it’s just sort of in his nature. as a person that rarely has the opportunity to have his own self-interest in mind, he felt deserving of spending this halloween doing whatever he felt like, though it was sort of shitty that hanging out with his girlfriend wasn’t in the cards... he was a dick. he was absolutely the worst, no doubt about it, but that’s something he would repent for some other day.
he’d agreed to hang out with nisa for a while tonight when they’d been spending time on her birthday, and he didn’t exactly want to rearrange those plans. the more that he finds himself hanging out with her, the more he wants to. they have common interests and make each other laugh and he just feels comfortable and relaxed when he’s with her. there’s no judgement, and they have fun together... that’s not something that he can get from many other people, so who can genuinely blame him for wanting to take advantage of that?
maybe he was just trying to justify being absolute scum, but again, tonight wasn’t the night for him to worry about it. the entire point was so that he would enjoy himself, not so that he’d have anything poisoned by his own thoughts or feelings. the only thing he wanted to be feeling was himself getting scared shitless, because that’s what this night is for, right? fear? and fun? he was going to have a good time, goddamn it.
he isn’t sure why he walked inside of the haunted house as he awaited his company. perhaps he wanted to try scaring her... or... something. there was no true explanation, it’s as though his feet had a mind of their own as he ventured inside, aimlessly wandering as he did his best to make out anything he could in the dark. it was so impossible for him to see that he held up his hand in front of his face and couldn’t even make it out... he’s so focused on how he can’t see anything that he’s taken off guard when someone bumps into him, and just as he’s about to say something, he feels their hands in his hair and trailing down to his shoulders. he’s so confused by it that he doesn’t even know how to respond, but he’s kinda into it. “well... hello there.” quiet laughter spills from his lips and he reaches out himself, trying to get a feel of whoever is holding onto him. “who’re you?”
