for every incel white man star wars dudebro there is a teenage lesbian with a slightly deeper and more obscure knowledge of star wars who will one day defeat him in battle
May the Fourth Be With You
Don’t forget to wear glitter, take your meds, and practice self-care in honor of our dear departed Space Mom.
Blessed Be She Who Drowned In Moonlight, Strangled By Her Own Bra
May the Fourth be with you.

The Force will be with you, always. HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!
Being a "force-favoured child" is such a cool concept if the idea is followed back to its source (as would the more common chosen one narrative). Does the force want something? Could it want something? Does it just exist and is unknowable? Cosmic horror or psychic fairytale?
Limits of sentient's bodies? Inconsequential. Regard of lifetimes? Nope. Rules of physics? Even by gffa's standards, ignored. Linear flow of time? Hah!
What happens if the established rules of the force do not work like that, actually. Can your faith ferry you along your life like that? Can you live with the consequences for you and the universe? Do you believe it's for the better?
you can only do this career for the rest of your life

NEW EARTH PHOTO JUST DROPPED FROM ARTEMIS II
thats my home
you can see the atmosphere. that halo around the edge, that's my air. the green on the upper right is my aurora borealis. those are my clouds, my sunlight.
and its yours! this is your home. this is the home of everyone you ever heard of and everyone you will ever meet. every animal you've been curious about. every plant you've ever picked, and sniffed. its mine and its yours and its theirs. everything is here. its all that i have. its all that you have too.
…usenet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Fan zines and Amateur President Associations? Books and art in the case of Arthurian works and biblical works. Storytellers in the case of folklore, legends, and mythology. Fanfiction has been around for centuries.

You know what? I'm the one that needs a utility kilt, not my partner!
So I wore cargo trousers to a concert yesterday (new ones*) because I'm not taking a bag if I can avoid it. So as my bag person (partner with large pockets) wasn't with me I had to put all of my stuff onto myself. Worked nicely.
I'm so used to wearing skirts for everything and my few trousers though wide cargos feel very similar to a long skirt.
(*not my corduroy ones which are my hobbit trousers or inadvertent kim possible cosplay, because they didn't fit the vibe I planned and the pockets are a little small)
(In no particular order in my pockets: phone/wallet and leash, coins, tissues, disinfectant wipes, concert ticket, emergency asthma inhaler, ibuprofen, tampons, lip balm, mask, chocolate snacks + held my empty cup sometimes)
How do you mark your place in a physical paper book?
Traditional bookmarks
A random receipt or torn piece of paper, napkin, other random paper, etc.
Fold the corner of the last page you were on
Just leave the book upside down with the last page open
Memorize or write down the last page you were on
You don’t mark your page and just hope you’ll find it later
Other (plz explain)
I’m curious what other people do. Personally I just grab whatever clean piece of paper or receipt is closest to me and use that.
Here's the thing: genre stereotypes are bullshit.
Sci-fi can be a wonderful expansion of your mind, and it can be fascist bullshit.
Romance can be a lovely study of the nature of relationships between two (or more!) people, and it can be lazy, toxic, conservative propaganda.
YA can be an honest and important part of teaching teenagers and young adults how to grow up, and it can be mass-produced corporate slop.
Literary fiction can be deeply personal stories of human connection, and it can be yet another man writing about how he wants to cheat on his wife with his student because she's grown naggy in her old age.
Cozy fiction can be deep meditations on loneliness and joy, and it can be meaningless fluff.
Dark books can be honest and soulful glimpses into the worst parts of the human existence, and it can be cheap misery/torture porn.
There is no genre that is inherently better than any other, no genre that doesn't have its treasures and its trash. We are multifaceted creatures that need multifaceted experiences and thus every genre has something to offer. We are also living in a corporate, capitalist system that values quantity over quality and will pounce on any perceived shift in the market to start churning out one genre and squashing another.
You can, and should, make observations on what specific genres come out at specific times, who reads them, and how they're perceived. People have made whole fields of study on how literature reflects and affects culture. But a genre's popularity is not a measure of its quality, for good or for ill. Take care not to let your own tastes blind you to other perspectives.
If anyone is curious, 6 is the kind of setup you'd use if you are working in a tech field and are in a position where you're monitoring telemetry, like in an operations center or the like.
Either that or you're writing some of the best fantasy-satire novels of the 20th and 22st century.
For work it's 5 but one is my laptop - emails or web apps / excel / teams & music
At home we've got 1.5 (a larger monitor but not an ultrawide)
Tbh there's too little unhinged combinations shown... I had an old 4:3 as second monitor for way longer than you'd think feasible
But who does 3 and is not centering the keyboard?
