God no, political Stephen gets on my nips, even if I largely agree with him. I have to mute him around election time!
Any Stephen is sexy, but mute is good.

The New Patient
One of the things I love about writing fanfiction is the opportunity to delve deeper and show more than could ever be seen on screen.
This is a character that I wanted to spend more time with and expand their story.
I hope you like it

A wonderful follow up story
Really living the life here....
….watching Escape to the Country with my mother, with the volume up full (she’s quite deaf).
@it-is-bugs, d'you wanna pop round? You’d love it!
THAT’S OKAY! I’ve got a ratty old cat wandering around with his bum shaved from the drain he just had for his bumhole abscess, one TV has some endless episodes of foolish Americans purchasing $600,000 RV’s (caravans) and bitching because there’s not granite countertops, Dancing with the Stars bellowing off the old mum’s TV, and it’s over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
I AM IN HELL
At least with Escape to the Country you can play a drinking game for every time they use the term ‘snug’ or say they’re going to do ‘holiday lets’ with the spare rooms.
Bring the cat. He can annoy my mother’s incontinent dog.
I miss all the fun… 😤
Now my life is really boring compared to you two.
Happy Home
I’ve been doing some re-watching of earlier series of CtM and I think that this day is a pivotal one in Patrick and Shelagh’s relationship.
I hope you like it :)

Lovely
One of the best things about having new (or just new-to-me-on-Tumblr) fans on my dash is that you’re all making me think about things in ways I haven’t considered in a long while.
Those missing moments, like what was going on in Shelagh’s head when she was walking down that misty road…or how did Patrick dare to write that first letter…or what were they both thinking in the x-ray van…
I opt for the x ray van
30 Days of Call the Midwife
Day Twenty-Seven
Favourite Female Guest Star - Sister Douglas (Cecilia Noble)
If Mr Kenley is representative of a certain type of doctor with his attitudes towards his patients then Sister Douglas is his polar opposite. She is St Cuthbert’s answer to the Nonnatus nurses with her mix of the compassion of Sister Julienne and the no nonsense approach of Nurse Crane.
Sister Douglas is gentle with her patients, especially when they are anxious. She is firm with errant fathers-to-be, especially ones who dare utter sentiments such as sleeping in the corridor. She is protective of her mothers-to-be and stands guard over Shelagh when Mr Kenley does his ward round.
She is compassionate with Gloria and doesn’t shy away from the agony of Gloria’s loss with her words - “You can cry if you want to. There will be better days than this.”
She is gentle with Shelagh and her fears for her unborn child. She knows what is important to Shelagh and she reassures her in a beautifully unique way when it is time to listen to baby Turner’s heartbeat. “I wanted a particular doctor and he has a very busy schedule.” Sister Douglas’ gentle squeeze of Shelagh’s hand shows her understanding of Shelagh’s anxiety in this moment.
Sister Douglas is kind, caring and compassionate but also firm when she needs to be. I love her words to Shelagh - “ No upsetting yourself, upsetting yourself is the worst thing you can do. So I forbid it.”
I was born in a hospital not unlike St Cuthbert’s and the midwife who delivered me was, according to my mother, very like Sister Douglas. So in a way, Sister Douglas is part of my story too.
Hello all! Charming! Today we asked our intrepid midwives Valerie and Trixie to give us an exclusive behind-the-scenes smile from the set of Call the Midwife series 7, and this is what we get! ;-) Filming has now begun on our next Christmas Special and a brand new series of Call the Midwife, and we can happily report that it is going WONDERFULLY! Jennifer Kirby and Helen George (pictured) have been having great fun by all accounts, and exclusive behind-scenes pictures are beginning to reach us here in Facebook Towers ;-) We’ll be showing them to you as filming commences over the coming months, so stay tuned. :-) Call the Midwife returns with a new Christmas Special and series 7 in 2018
Just a little moment for Patrick. Enjoy and as always let me know if you like. Thanks.
This is beautiful and I love these little moments.
Just a little something that popped into my head and had to be written. Enjoy!
As always feedback welcome. If you like it, rebog it.
I love this and Shelagh’s way at looking at her children.
I might as well post this. It’s only a mental image moment.
And a very nice mental moment
Hardy comes in to work one morning and finds Ellie has stuck this on his office door. He doesn’t take it down.
Small CtM Press Rant...
Just read *another* article today about some CtM news (it was about the new nurse joining the cast for next series) that was about something entirely unrelated to Miranda Hart, but then for some reason decided to veer into talking about why Chummy isn’t coming back and re-hashing all the news about this from last year. This was for *half* of this article! And what’s more, this is hardly the first time I’ve seen this happen. This annoys me to no end! Yes, we get it! Miranda Hart said she was coming back, and then said she wasn’t. But that’s old news! It’s been reported a million times, and that announcement was months ago! Why does it seem like so many writers want to make *every* news story about CtM into something about Chummy/Miranda when she hasn’t been on the show since series 4 and most likely isn’t coming back except maybe for a guest appearance sometime *after* series 7?
Grrr…
I did like Chummy, but the show has never been “her show” and news stories like this continue to irritate me!
OK, rant over!
“The sun was shining when we left. The profound experience had lent the moment a pleasant informality. She surprised me again by sharing my cigarette and even confessed to stealing her father’s cigarettes as a child! Then, in a moment, she was gone, cycling back to the convent. And here I am lying in my bed, the morning sunlight streaming through the closed curtains. The adrenalin is still racing”
- Doctor Turner’s Casebook (p.34)
Still the best scene ❤️❤️❤️

Instead of writing a direct response, I ended up writing this.
Many thanks to @snoopctm, who also helped me with the slightly dubious title for this ;)
