Okay, so, I finally narrowed it down to 20 names for a duck/chicken should this whole thing actually pan out. These names are separated by gender, but like, they’re birds. They don’t know the difference, so it doesn’t really matter whether the name is feminine or masculine. For the record, it wouldn’t matter for a human with me either. I fully intend to name my future daughter Ezra.
But, the names are (and some background?):
1. Maia (I actually have a cousin with this name, but you know, whatever. I really like it because I have this weird obsession with Maori culture and I read somewhere that the name Maia means “brave warrior” in Maori and I just felt a connection with it.) 2. Valentina 3. Margo (Like Margo Roth Spiegelman or Margo Song Covey? I don’t know?) 4. Wren (My grandpa’s favorite bird.) 5. Thyme (I met a girl with this name while I was in college, she was incredibly sweet and I absolutely fell in love with her name) 6. Cartier (Season two of Project Runway Junior?) 7. Mabry (A girl at my best friend’s church?) 8. Tula (When I was a little kid, my dad used to jokingly call me Tallulah Jenkins, but I couldn’t say Tallulah, I said Tula) 9. Lemon 10. Zinnia (My favorite flower) Â
1. Wallace (As in Wallace Hartley, the violin player on the RMS Titanic. I don’t know.) 2. Barrett (I had a teacher in high school who’s son was called Barrett) 3. Hawley (A family name) 4. Barker 5. Caillou (That bratty child from Caillou the show on channel 9?) 6. Oskar 7. Ferdinand 8. Rennin (Pretty sure this is some kind of scientific thing that has to do with cows, but I’m not a scientist so it doesn’t bother me.) 9. Alfredo (Alternative for Alfred because ever since I read Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys, I can’t stand the name Alfred by itself.) 10. Campbell (Richard Campbell Gansey III?)
