And let's talk about Guignard/Fabbri...
Having watched the Skate America practice feed, what stood out for me is the changes Chock/Bates and CPom made to their programs. C/B had 3 weeks and changed her costume and some of the layout and choreo elements in the FD. CPom has 2 weeks, and changed the lift in the RD (to lift V/M did as young juniors, but that's another issue) and the lifts in the FD (changed the curve into rotational to a combo curve). Both teams listened to the feedback about what's nor really working and acted on it.
Guignard/Fabbri had 3 weeks between GP France (where they were dropped HARD) and NHK. They got tons of feedback (from fans and officials), and while they did change the RD music (which was a travesty), they legit kept everything the same. There isn't a single moment in the FD that changed, not the lack of transitions, not the slow-ish choreo slide. Nothing. And this is mostly why I doubt they'll be able to medal at Milan. Yes, their scores did improve, but those are still lower than where they need to be, and it's clear they are not willing to absorb feedback and do anything with it.
