SHIFTING AND MANIFESTATION METHODS ADAPTED TO NEURODIVERGENCE
knock-a-knock knock… is anyone home?!
the title is pretty much self explanatory, and if you’ve seen my last video—see this as some sort of continuation to it! it only made sense to help re-explain the methods of this community in more detail after speaking about how differently some neurodivergent people feel in this community. i hope this is just as helpful as my last post,
and for my curious souls, here is the post!
once again, do excuse me if i do or get something wrong in this post. my first semester finals began around two days ago; and i’m someone who once got hospitalized because exam anxiety got me extremely ill. tough times… this doesn’t mean i haven’t STILL been manifesting successfully. I’ve manifested money, looking prettier (and getting compliments), shifted—yadda yadda! enough niko ranting, i’ll get to the post.
remember, once again, you do not need to be neurodivergent to read this. being educated never hurt !!!
also because this is basically just my last post but explaining the methods in detail… i tried my best i’m sleep deprived leaf me alone
1 — VISUALIZATION AND GUIDED IMAGERY
WHAT IT IS, SHORTLY:
mentally rehearsing a outcome, scene or desire. seeing the future, feeling the success. it’s often referred to as feeling it as done.
HOW NEURODIVERGENCE CAN CHANGE IT:
weak or absent imagery—some autistic people and others report weak mental imagery, with alexithymia links to reduced imaginal emotional blending.
hyper vivid imagery and disassociation risks—those who disassociate or have psychosis vulnerability can find imagined scenes overwhelming or blurring with reality.
intrusive imagery and OCD—people with these issues may get triggered trying to visualize, producing distressing images instead.
ADAPTATIONS:
sensory anchored imagery—if you’re sensory driven, pick a sense such as texture, scent or sound rather than attempting a FULL “movie”. imagine the feel of a specific fabric or the smell of something associated with your DR and desires. sensory anchors are less likely to trigger dissociation than sprawling daydreams.
verbal and logic imagery—for my people with weak visual imagery (aphantasia) or strong verbal thinking, describe the future in concrete sentences: “i receive an email saying X; i open it, my palms are steady.” written and/or verbal rehearsals acts surprisingly similarly to imagery.
safe imaging for OCD—try your best to avoid prompts that could match known intrusive themes, if you’re not sure exactly what can trigger it; keep it neutral, procedural, etc. it doesn’t NEED to be emotionally loaded to manifest.
externalization—same as the first rule, but more physical. this helps people with executive dysfunction by turning an internal process into an external one! record / find a short audio or keep a tactile object to pair with the visualization. the brain will link it to the physical cues and not just imagination.
2 — AFFIRMATIONS
WHAT IT IS, SHORTLY:
repeating statements to shift your self-concept and literally “affirm” your true reality.
HOW NEURODIVERGENCE CAN CHANGE IT:
cognitive dissonance or literal black and white thinking—for someone who literally believes language, saying “I am X” when you don’t feel it can produce shame, self-criticism, or rejection sensitivity which is particularly common in autism, OCD, depression.
OCD and thought fusion—repeating statements may incite compulsive repetition in people prone to mental rituals.
ADAPTATIONS:
certain phrasing—use credence-building language, such as “i am practicing being someone who…” or “right now, i’m choosing…” this reduces cognitive dissonance and keeps it grounded. yes, you can STILL manifest with this phrasing rather than insisting on it being done now. you can choose to have a process.
micro-affirmations—extremely short and specific. these claims are less likely to trigger perfectionism or all-or-nothing thinking.
limit repetition triggers—once again, for my OCD folks. avoid long repetition cycles; if repeating an affirmation leads to anxiety or ritualizing, stop that form and use one time written statements instead.
3 — SCRIPTING / JOURNALING
WHAT IT IS, SHORTLY:
write a scene, or sometimes a letter from the future, detailing your desired outcome.
HOW NEURODIVERGENCE CAN CHANGE IT:
executive overload—long scripts can feel impossible to maintain for ADHD/executive dysfunction.
perfectionism and rumination—for anxious or OCD prone people, scripting is likely to become a source of endless editing and worry.
alexithymia—may struggle to articulate feelings in writing; it may feel… flat. cue the shame and feeling of imperfection.
ADAPTATIONS:
short bullet scripting—one paragraph or one bullet style scripts that list observable things of your desire. what you’ll do, see, hear, rather than emotional adjectives! more accessible for literal thinkers and those with alexithymia.
chunked journaling—store a script and set update checkpoints, be it weekly or monthly rather than daily rewriting. this reduces perfectionist editing.
multimodal scripts—include stickers, images, audio if you can to represent feelings for those who find words hard. for sensory neurotypes, attach textures or scents that represent the outcome.
4 — VISION BOARDS
WHAT IT IS, SHORTLY:
collecting or putting together images to represent your desire.
HOW NEURODIVERGENCE CAN CHANGE IT:
sensory overload—boards can be visually cluttered and overwhelming for sensory sensitive people. e.g. autism, SPD, etc.
shame from “not enough”—comparing boards to others or reality can worsen mood disorders.
ADAPTATIONS:
minimalism is in—use a single image or a single word on a tidy board, physical or digital. that way, less sensory overwhelm and more consistent cueing!
portable mini-board—small, pocket sized board or a single object that can be carried to avoid environmental restrictions or panic about large displays.
5 — GUIDED MEDITATION AND BREATHWORK
WHAT IT IS, SHORTLY:
using calming practices to induce a state for visualization or shifting.
HOW NEURODIVERGENCE CAN CHANGE IT:
sensory intolerance—long meditations or certain guidance voices (i know some of y’all can’t STAND alunir) can be intolerable at times.
disassociation—meditation CAN trigger disassociation in trauma affected or dissociative individuals. i’ve never said disassociation this many times in one sentence..
ADAPTATIONS:
short grounding practices—use brief, very short grounding cues. 10-30 seconds is enough! name three things you can see, hear and touch. keep it short to prevent disassociation.
active somatic grounding—use movement or counting rather than floating breathwork if sitting quietly increases dissociation.
personalization—choose guides and recordings (could make your own!) that match your sensory tolerances.
for the cuties that made it this far; i love love looove you! know that you’re capable regardless of what anyone shows you, regardless of how you feel. the law does not exempt you from success. you were born to shift, to manifest and explore. you will not let ANYTHING stop you. and i, personally, am right behind you—screeching motivation til my vocal chords die out.
time for me to study.. cries (。╯︵╰。)
This is a godsend
