Ball State Graduation

As we enter this weekend we are excited to celebrate Ball State University graduates and their families all weekend.  We love to see all of the happy graduates and families in our restaurant, feeling triumphant and ready for their next adventure.  We are also excited to celebrate the graduation of one of our own staff members, Amelia!  We are proud of her and we cant wait to see where she goes next and the impact she will have on them!  So this weekend come by The Barn and eat, celebrate, and enjoy!

Tonight our dinner special used our fresh morels and paired it with a 12oz ribeye and ramp mashed potatoes. Our barn burger was a beefy fiesta burger with a delicious house made pico.

Morels

Today we were able to score some amazing looking morel mushrooms from one of our foragers. We can wait to make an amazing dish with these, stop in and see exactly what the chef has planned for them!

Last night we hosted a beer dinner and showcased Boulevard Brewing company.  We had a 5 course dinner each perfectly paired with one of their amazing beers.

So as you guys know yesterday Matt, Sous chef Nathan, and myself (Katie) took a trip to Becker Farms.  It is so awesome to see where our products come from.  We were able to see the cows, geese, and pigs.

Becker Farms

Today we took a trip to Becker Farms in Mooreland, IN.  Becker currently provides us with our farm fresh eggs and today we were able to get some ground duck from them, as well as fresh duck eggs.  We love working with the farmers around us and creating a meal that is inspired by their produce they provide for us.  Come in and see what Chef Matt Burns creates with the fresh duck! The Beginning

Barn Brasserie was the vision of Matt and Jessica Burns.  They opened in June of 2013 with a new and exciting menu, ready to expand the horizons of the people of Muncie.  After being the head chefs in many restaurants around East Central Indiana, they were ready to create something of their own.  Taking the experience they gained from all of their past positions, The Barn was created.  Their love for fresh, organic ingredients made them strive to provide that for their business.  With a focus on the importance of the farm to table experience, The Barn works to use ingredients from local farmers to create a ever-changing menu.
