babyspace!nat headcanons (ft cg!lottie)
🍼 tends to regress this small quite often, especially if shes feeling stressed or having a bad day.
🕊️ she prefers to regress on her own. she has this me against the world mindset (and yes, it stems from her childhood), and she's almost ashamed to be small because all her life, she was told to grow up and stop acting like a child.
🏐 lottie is the first to find out after she scrapes her knee playing soccer and starts to regress on the field. lottie has a first aid kit in her bag in the locker room and she tells coach scott that she's going to patch natalie up there. once they're out of sight from the others, natalie's clinging onto her hand like a lifeline. lottie fixes her up and then they bail on practice in favour of going to lottie's house where they watch cartoons for the afternoon.
🍼 nat is terrified that lottie won't want to be her friend anymore or will tell the other yellowjackets that she literally bolts the other way every time she sees her in the hall or at practice (avoidance has always been her favourite defence mechanism.) lottie is not all that surprised, so one day she slides nat a ham sandwich at lunch as a way to show that she is okay with it, and after that, it starts their friendship blossoming. nat and lottie eventually have a conversation about her regression and slowly but surely lottie becomes nat's primary caregiver.
🕊️ nearly always retreats to lottie's house when she's feeling small because her mom and dad are rarely home and the caretaking staff etc just leave them be quite a lot of the time so it's quite private.
🏐 loves a good old rocking chair. she used to have one as a child and although her mom rarely used it when she was a baby, it still sat vacant in nat's bedroom because a) her mom just forgot it was there and b) nat never drew attention to it in fear of her parents getting rid of it. whenever she is feeling small, she'll curl up in it with her baby blankie. when she stays at lottie's, her new favourite place to curl up in is lottie's lap because she'll rock them back and forth to mimic that rocking chair motion.
🍼 tends to be quite unsettled or fussy when she's small. i head canon her as autistic so her emotions can be quite overwhelming at the best of times but thats heightened when she's feeling tiny.
🕊️ is such a biter. not even intentionally, but if she doesn't have a paci or a teether or the strings of her hoody, she will try to nibble on whoever's closest.
🏐 loves lullabies, especially if they're sung by lottie because she has such a soothing voice. lottie makes her a mixtape of instrumentals/lullabies for when nat's regressing at her house/on her own.
🍼 could spend hours with crayola crayons. she'll colour in for ages and then present lottie with her masterpieces, which is often times just scribbles on the paper but lottie is always kissing her forehead and praising her and calling her her little artist.
🕊️ likes to be held, but it has to be tightly otherwise it makes her skin crawl. on that notion, she's such a cuddle bug.
🏐 is nine times out of ten nonverbal, but if she's feeling particularly fussy or excited or just wants someone's attention, she will babble non-stop. also has a habit of giving people's hair a tug to get their attention if their hair is particularly long (lottie)
🍼 always tries to eat stuff that she's not supposed to. i'm talking she needs almost constant supervision if out in the garden cause she'll try to eat worms and bugs and berries and flowers
🕊️ will only eat mushed up bananas, yoghurt or animal crackers. sometimes ventures out to cut up oranges or watermelons but that's a rare occasion. however, she adores having bottles and she needs one every night before bed.
🏐 she's as light as a feather and she loves to be carried when she's feeling small; it makes her feel safe and it has her diving headfirst into her regression, too.
started watching teen wolf for the first time last week and isaac is such a baby. big baby. big big baby.
anyway. baby/toddler regressor isaac with begrudging caregiver derek. he cries whenever derek is even the slightest bit annoyed. needs cuddles 24/7 and affirmation 24/7
have not seen the latest season and nor will I ever ❌
i know for a fact he and john b have competitions to who can build the best sandcastle (jj tooootally doesn't have pope help him) and the girls judge (they're not biased whatsoever, jj winning every single time is just because he's the master sandcastle builder, obviously)
