— 🍼 regressor! robert “bob” reynolds headcanons
my sweet baby bob he is so so so so so so so special to me……
cw: mentions of trauma, self harm, padding and bed wetting
• bob’s regressed ages vary from 2-5 yrs old, but he tends to stay on the younger side majority of the time. sometimes he regresses even younger when he’s in deep.
• veeerrrryyyyy quiet when regressed. he communicates the best with basic sign language or pointing, but he will occasionally say one word sentences or babble. he did grow up hearing “children should be seen and not heard” a lot, so he thinks it’s safer to just be quiet.
• obsessed with teethers, pacifiers, chewelery, etc. loves quiet activities and toys like stuffed animals, coloring books and picture books.
• his primary caretakers are yelena and walker. yelena herself is a flip, but she doesn’t regress often. bucky, ava, and alexei babysit, and on special occasions, sam and joaquin babysit him, too.
bob LOVES joaquin. joaquin isn’t a regressor himself, but he’s always more than happy to hang out with his little buddy, regressed or not. he always brings bob out of his bubble whenever he’s around. sam always finds them both asleep tangled up in a pile on the sofa after a long, good playdate at the end of the day.
• he never lets his caregivers out of his sight and follows them around like a baby duck. it’s endearing to the rest of the thunderbolts*, but bob is just afraid of being left behind again.
• trauma regressor. sometimes, regression for bob isn’t always peaceful. he kicks, he cries, he screams and he hits, accidentally hurting himself or his caregivers in the process. he doesn’t mean to, he’s not being a brat, he doesn’t know how to handle big emotions in a small body.
• nightmares are a big problem when bob is regressed. it’s very rare, but he sometimes wakes up with wet bed sheets in the middle of the night or in the morning. he hates having to wear pull ups, but he’s always reminded it’s to keep him safe and clean.
• the thunderbolts* may not be the perfect caregivers and still learn new things about bob’s regression every day, but bob still thinks they’re the best regardless. they always have their good days and their bad days either way. at the end of the day, they always take care of each other.
