Decided to post it here because I'm really proud of this one! :D Every Breath You Take by The Police really really reminds me of Weedspots, so I obviously had to draw him to it.
Hi @murkclan-clangen I invented some babies for u <3 their colours donβt look exactly like the sprites because i colour picked from Shadowspore and Coneriver, and I have poor vision in low light so I had to lighten them 10% or else i cant see the difference between grey and black π anyways here yay! I was bummed i didnt enter your design contest so this feels like a redemption! I thought it would be cute to have the Hickory from this universe be male because the Hickory from the comic is female :) Frostkit has Coneriverβs stripes (and the blue half of his eyes), Ashkit has Coneriverβs pelt colours, and Hickorykit has Shadowsporeβs colours! Hickorykit is just a mini Shadowspore :D I hope you like the designs I gave them, Iβm still mad at u for killing her but someday i will forgive π /silly
Also for thematic purposes i used MurkClan Beigeβ’οΈ and Noteworthy Fontβ’οΈ so theyd look like real murkclanners.

I love how you made them look like their parents and I love the design elements you added to them!! These guys are just THE CUTEST!! Awwww awww sweet little guys π₯Ή
They would've been beloved by EVERYONE I'll tell you that. I mean just look at them, how could you not instantly love them.
Do any of the founders miss their families who they left behind when they made Murkclan? Which cat(s) hates the rogues the most right now? What would a swap AU look like? (Like what if Sagegrass died to the dogs instead of two of her kits). Do any or all of the cats have voice claims or what you think theyβll sound like? Will Murkclan go to war or battle the rogues (at this point, I feel like the rogues are just trying to cause a war or something ππ₯²) Also, I think all Murkclan needs a therapist so here is my cat Buttercupshiver who is a cat therapist, he isnβt a mediator, but he is cat who will sit there and here your problems and help you, he is definitely a male version of Fluttershy from Mlp (letβs all admit, we all need a mini Buttercupshiver in our lives.) Sorry for the long ask again, I just I love this Clangen comic! My favorite character is Coneriver, I am sad that we never got to see any Coneriver x Shadowspore kits. I wanna hug Coneriver so much because I feel like he is having a hard time with raising Hickorykit.

Do any of the founders miss their families who they left behind when they made MurkClan?
Almost all of the founder's family members are dead/unimportant to them. After looking through their backstories, there's really only one who does miss someone they left behind.
Flipkite had no littermates, but did have 4 younger siblings, one of whom he grew very close with. His younger sister, Shadeeagle (his only surviving sibling), joined FlameClan and now resides there. Flipkite really does miss her and she misses him too, but their political views were too different for them to remain in the same clan during the split.
I hopefully do plan on going more in depth on Flipkite's backstory in a potential mini comic/story!
Which cat(s) hates the rogues the most right now?
You'd think Sagegrass, but she doesn't actually know the rogues were the reason the dog got to Shadowspore (Mantisclaw was too traumatized to tell them). She just thinks a dog got to her.
Clovegleam and Fielddapple were both ambushed by rogues, Fielddapple's encounter resulting in a scar. So based on that, I'd say Fielddapple hates them the most.
What would a swap AU look like?
Ooh that is a really interesting question! I'd love to think of more swap AU scenarios (if I end up posting any, I can tag you in them if you want!). I'll answer the one you specified, so: "What if Sagegrass died to the dogs instead of two of her kits?"
Maybe in this AU, Sage was helping Shadow patrol, resulting in both of them getting targeted by the rogues
Sage notices the dog earlier and alerts Shadow, causing the two to make a run for it. Sage being older and not as fast as a warrior (since she's a mediator) gets caught instead and killed
I imagine Shadow wouldn't have just let her get maimed and tries to fight back, but her smaller size puts her at a disadvantage, causing her to get wounded (and potentially scarred too)
Mantis helps her bring back Sage's body and Shadow is immediately rushed into the healer's den
After a while, Shadow tells them of the danger of the dogs, but she also tells them of the rogue group. Now that it is known that the rogue's actions have lead to death, patrols are sent out less frequently and in larger groups. Teaseldrizzle doesn't die to the dog.
I imagine Shadow gets a lot closer with Anise in the healer's den (they grieve together). Prairie's mental state worsens, but I think Clovegleam would step up and become a much more prominent mentor/parental figure to them. He's also grieving a lot, but he needs to protect them now. Burnspeckle deals with the grief the best, but Woolclaw has trouble handling it. She temporarily takes a break from her duties, causing Flipkite to step in to help.
Woolclaw gets angrier because of the death and she probably goes out to hunt for the rogues herself. She manages to kill Onyx, but is mortally wounded because of the encounter. Her death only hits the siblings (and Clovegleam) harder.
I think in the future, Shadow would name a kit in her litter after Sage and Wool.

Will MurkClan go to war or battle the rogues?
Rootstar really wants to avoid conflict. He doesn't want to go to war with anyone, honestly, and mostly just tries to avoid things when they get bad.
That being said, there are definitely a good number of clan members who would fight the rogues. Especially if they knew the role they played in Shadowspore's death.
MurkClan technically does have therapists!! :D That role is filled by the mediators, though as you can guess, they aren't doing so well right now. Buttercupshiver would be a big help to them all at the moment.

I'm also super sad we never got to see the kits! I was really looking forward to them π To cope I put them in the clangen offspring generator just to see what their kits could've looked like
These are now the official designs for the kits they could've had. I think they would've been named (in order): Frostkit, Ashkit and Hickorykit

Coneriver is doing his best raising Hickorykit! It's not easy, but she has seriously made a huge positive impact on his life. Even without Shadowspore there with him, he's still pushing forward to give Hickorykit the best possible life he can.
I'm glad to hear he's your favourite! I've had a blast writing him and exploring his character. He's actually one of my favourites to write! When I was first playing, I imagined him as a lot more vicious and brooding (since he has the bloodthirsty trait), but I'm very happy with where his character is now!
I've been thinking about this for a while, but would you guys be interested in mini comics and/or written stories about some of the founders' backstories?
I think it could be fun! After all, they did have a whole life before MurkClan was ever founded.
I'm not too sure, but it's in my head so I may end up doing this if people seem interested!

Who blew up the cat!? I love the cartoon explosion look. The tail is a fun shape, the paw tufts look cool, and the eye bags make him look wife eyed like he's perpetually in shock, and I love it. The sun marking on his back is super cool too

Wonderstripe looks very mystical, I like the spiral-like stripes, I like how fluffy she is too. The white adds to the design too, and I can't imagine her without it.

Rattlespider
For Rattlespider, what I really struggled with was drawing and simplifying her markings. I wanted her to look interesting, especially since her pelt pattern was so unique, but I just couldn't do it.
I have to mention how cool it is that so many of the Rattlespider entries integrated her name into the design! I really wanted to do that, but had NO idea how, so I was so impressed by how many people managed to do it so well!

I really like the simplicity of this Rattlespider design! The sprite itself was so crowded that I didn't know how to make it work, but I think this design really helps make things easier to look at! Plus, I love the mandibles and the rattle!

I'm like in awe of how naturally the spider part of her name was incorporated into the design! The spider like cheek fluff works super well but also makes it feel natural!

I love how intimidating this Rattlespider design looks! It makes sense, considering her name. I'm a huge huge fan of the big neck fluff and how it adds so much personality and interest to the design! I feel like it also really helps to make the rattle part look more natural!
I also love how the patterns were interpreted! I'd never have thought of using the spots to make an actual spider, so I thought that was super smart! I love this design so much! :D
And to make first place even more special, here are a few sketches of the winning design!
I really struggled to make Sapling look interesting while still keeping her patterns simple to stay true to the sprite! And I have to say, every entry was so unique and so different! I loved seeing how everyone interpreted the somewhat basic sprite and made such interesting designs out of it!

I like how wise she looks! Something about the multiple accessories and the big braid really makes her feel calm and wise, which works great! I love how the cicada wings were incorporated as a tie for the braid!

I absolutely love the curly fur that this Sapling design has! I think that it helps it pair nicely with the spots! I also think the one darker toe also helps convey that this Sapling has some sort of spunk to her, which is great!!

I really love how the patterns remained simple, but the design is still interesting to look at because of the bag and the ear shape! I'm also a big fan of the blocky stripes, since it conveys the stoicism I've always imagined Sapling to have!
The bag is also such a fun idea for a travelling healer! I changed the cicada wings to be kind of more like a keychain. I'm such a big fan of this Sapling! :DD
