IZ AU where dib fucking dies and his dad makes a clone of him to replace his son (more info below this post)

I have this IZ AU in my mind where dib dies from some disease but prof. membrane prepared a clone of him in order to maintain his inheritance (passing on his legacy being a famous scientist etc etc)

This "dib" is different than the OG dib, he's more interested in science rather than the paranormal and he aims to be like his father. Zim, who has been relying on the OG dib as his motivation to conquer earth n all, hates this guy a lot. Because this "dib" views zim as nothing more than a mere nuisance and not as his mortal enemy. Zim may dislike the OG dib as well, but deep down he's the closest thing zim has as a friend and someone who actually takes him seriously.

In this AU, Zim kinda just desperately try to get him to be his mortal enemy again and get him interested in the paranormal but all of his attempts just fail and this kinda sends him to a depressive state. "Dib" saw zim's state and decided to befriend him and shit goes down or smthg idk this AU is still under construction 😢😢😢

Also this AU is zadf-centered, id probably focus on toxicity between friendships in this AU if i continue it. There's still a lot of stuff missing here and there but for now i just wanna share my idea :]

More IZ stuff (incoming ramble about how i think of their relationship below tjis post)

This is gonna involve some character analysis stuff but be aware that i am not the very best at analysing 😓😓

I dont rlly like them in a romantic sense tbh, not that i hate it but i just cant see them having romantic feelings for eachother 😭😭 (i see the appeal, but i think its just isnt for me)

If anything, i like them in a more platonic way. I find their dynamic rlly interesting, like yeah their rivals but theyre also outcasts in their own respective worlds and they have a lot more in common than they thought.

But the thing is they havent realized abt that yet bcs theres this barrier that blocks them from understanding each other. In this case, i think the barrier is basically their goals to prove to their own societies that they can be better than them just to fill up their own egos.

I think if they break that barrier then maybe they might start to understand each other. I guess from this they can form a close bond together since their both outcasted in their own distinctive worlds. It doesnt have to be romantic, it can be platonic or a secret third thing that defies the norms of what a "romantic" relationship should look like.

IN CONCLUSION: i think they would be really good moirails if they swallowed their own egos☝️☝️☝️
