((I made a few alterations to the biography page; one was to changeĀ āsexā toĀ āidentifies asā in accordance with the relatively recent canon that toads are a sexless race, and the other was a few changes here and there to make sure the bio is vague enough to visit all current and possible futureĀ āverses.
Speaking of which, I added one to theĀ āverses page; Universe 0 will denote the present-day canonĀ āverse so that Dus T. can interact with game canon Mario franchise characters. Please remember that Iāll be tagging all posts based on theĀ āverse they take place in.))
āUmm... Am I late? Iāve been hearing this Boots and Saddles festival is quite the social event so, er...I just thought Iād give it a try just for the experience. ...Itās really drafty.ā
((OK, now that toads have been canonically declared a sexless race (presumably meaning gender identities for them are just identities), I have no idea how to draw my toadsonaās naked crotch anymore. So for now, Iām just giving himĀ ātroll doll anatomyā.))
Hi. Iāve tried doing this commission thing before, but I donāt think I reached out well enough before. I think Iāll try it again, especially since Iām now trying to save up for a new computer. Iāll still do commissions for people after I get the computer, of course; life will just give me another thing Iāll really wanna get in the futureā¦
Above is a general taste of what I draw, most of it is from my Ask Koops blog. Thereās stuff ranging from simple doodles to vectored characters to full scenes with backgrounds. My preferred payment method is paypal; just send me an ask or submission saying exactly what youād want, and Iāll privately tell you the e-mail. I may contact you mid-progress for more information or other input.
Do note, I refuse to draw particularly violent or gory things, and I discourage nudity contentāflat out refusing if weāre not especially close buddies, and even then I may or may not refuse depending on various circumstances.
Basics: Black and white doodle: $2 Colored doodle: $3 Vector bust: $5 Vector full body: $10
Additional: Another character: $1.50 Complex background: $2
Lucas is wondering about, trying to find someone, no,Ā anyone. As heās doing so, he is hyperventilating. Help him.

āTh-thanksā¦?ā
Was that a complement? It seemed like it. Ether way, the blonde was glad to see that Dus T. was perfectly calm about this. It more of relieved him, actually. Maybe he could get away with not explaining how he acquired the powers.
āIām⦠glad that you still donāt find me scary or intimidating or anything.ā
That was all he could muster out at this point. The toadās body language indicated more interest than anything. It wasnāt too often that it happened.
How often had that happened to the kid? That people saw the power he possessed and became frightened of him, even after getting to know him beforehand? Perhaps it did make sense; people are often intimidated by things they donāt understand, but...how many potential friends has Lucas would up scaring off? It was kind of sad to think about.
All the toad could think to respond was a shrug and,Ā ā...Well, I mean...I know I donāt know you all that well, but...I know you well enough to know Iāve got nothing to be scared of...ā
Dus T. was sorely, sorely tempted to ask Lucas to explain his powers. They seemed very different from what people like Mario and Luigi possessed--different than any sort of magic heād seen or read about. And yet...something in the back of his mind told the scribe this was something itād be insensitive to pry into...
āMind if I make the lunch for today?ā The offer was out of his mouth before he even realized he was making it. Dus T. wasnāt sure if he was making that offer as a show of gratitude for his hospitality or to draw attention away from a facet of himself Lucas wasnāt exactly comfortable with. Or perhaps a little of both?
āYou think so?ā
Not a whole lot of people had that reaction. Many were frightened, or they were freaked out. Who could blame them? A child who had the power to summon many different elements should be feared. Though itās pretty tough to hide PSI when someone is hurt, or when trouble arose. Unfortunately, those two things happened quite a bit.
But the fact that the toad had that reaction surprised Lucas. He didnāt think the Mushroom Kingdom had people like him, or even supernatural accurances in general. He responded with empathy in his tone.
āYou shouldnāt apologize- I mean, itās not your fault.ā
The toad nodded sincerely, while taking note to himself how nervous Lucas seemed when the former discovered his powers. Was he scared of how heād react? Ā Or that heād think any differently of him?
āWell...I mean... I wouldnāt want to be caught on the business end of power like that,ā he added sheepishly,Ā ābut...well, since you gave me your help in a time of need, even when you didnāt know me,ā he went on, staring down at his folded hands thoughtfully,Ā āat least I know itās a good person wielding them.ā
Though, to be honest, any potential shock was most likely numbed anyway by the fantastic and sometimes frightening prevalence of magic found around his homeland. Going about oneās business in the Mushroom Kingdom could be quite an adventure if you werenāt accustomed to the place, and sometimes even if you were.
"People cant normally do that, can they?" ((lol I'm not even sure where to go with our current RP anymore so have another sentence starter from me XP))
//Haha alright
āS-some can. Not many, but some.ā
Lucas seemed a bit nervous, so Dus T. responded with friendly face; he did owe the boy for giving him place to sleep and a decent meal while he was stuck here.Ā āWell...itās pretty neat what you can do.ā
The toad knew their national heroes, as well as their benevolent monarch, to have fantastic powers of their own despite being human. But they were supposedly among a small handful of so-calledĀ āstar childrenā that were supposedly touched by the power of the Star Spirits or something at birth. And he had a pretty good feeling what Lucas had was something else entirely.
āSorry...um, if I saw something I shouldnāt...ā
"I'm sorry--please, can you help me?"
The boy noted the otherās nervousness. Hints in otherās speech were key characteristics in otherās intentions. Well, maybe not intentions, but rather, thought process. He didnāt quite catch the mushroom bearing creatureās tone nor words, although he wished to know, he didnāt say anything about it.
āI-I guess you can⦠I mean, my Dadās are never home, so itād work.ā Hopefully he wouldāt return in the next few days, Lucas dismissed the thought of that happening,Ā āAh, no, i-itās fine! Really, Iām not too good with introductions myself. Iām Lucas, nice to meet you, Dus T.ā To him, that was one of the first few things that was mentioned. Dus T sounded like Duster. Boy, how Lucas liked musing with words.
āOh, thanks, Lucas...ā There was a sincere tone of gratitude and relief.Ā āI just need a place to rest on occasion until I can figure out how to get home. ...And, well...itās nice meeting you, too.ā He gave the human boy a small yet pleasant smile.
All the same, he had to wonder why a childās father was never at home, but Dus T. figured it wasnāt his place to prod. He was lucky enough to find a place to stay for the time being, after all.
reblog if u think your icon would chuckle at a meme
"I'm sorry--please, can you help me?"
āWarp pipe?ā Hey, werenāt those the wide green pipes that come out of nowhere? And then Mario and Luigi would submerge from them soon after their arrival, and sink back down? Lucas knew a little bit about those, but not exactly anything more. āYea, youāre on Nowhere Islands, Tazmily Village, to be specific.ā Who would write a book about a place named Nowhere Islands?
The shroom-hatted creature took in his surroundings, furrowing his face as if in contemplation. After a moment, he could be heard musing to himself,Ā āIām on an island...literally called...Nowhere...ā His tone went even quieter as he went into deeper thought,Ā ā...feel like Iāve heard or read something--some kinda passing mention...ā
As his eyes wandered back onto the human boy, he smiled apologetically, having all but forgotten up to that point he was still even there.Ā āOh, um, hope itās not too much trouble,ā he said, twiddling his little fingers,Ā ābut until I can find my way back home, I donāt really have a place to stay here... Oh!ā He stopped for a moment to add,Ā āMy nameās Dus T., by the way...um, probably shouldāve--ahem--been one of the first things I said...ā
"I'm sorry--please, can you help me?"
āOh? Yea, what do you need?ā
Standing in the grass several feet from Lucas was a small humanoid creature, about the size of a small child. He had no visible nose or ears to be seen, yet his round-rimmed glasses seemed to hold up just fine. He wore an open red vest with a pale gold trimming, white round pants so poofy they hid his stubby legs, and brown laceless shoes. On top of his head was a rather large round mushroom cap, bigger than his own head and lined with blue spots.
The nervous little humanoid stood rooted to the spot as he looked around him in uncertainty.Ā āIām...um, a little lost... I came here by accident, but now I canāt seem to find the warp pipe that brought me here... I can tell Iām on an island, but itās not one Iāve ever seen or recall reading about.ā
See folks, this here is a fine example of what not to say to someoneās drawing, no matter what it may look like. It could be a two minute doodle of a cat, or it could be Van Goghās Starry Night; You do not, under any circumstances, flat out tell someone their drawing is terrible. Itās one thing to give constructive criticism, because that helps an artist grow and progress with their pieces. But donāt tell someone that their art is horrible. You never know how long they could have worked on it, how long they sat over their piece of paper and erased their work over and over again because they didnāt think that it was good enough. And when they are finally satisfied and confident enough to show people, just think of how heartbreaking it isĀ for the person you felt like you could show it to shoot it down in two seconds flat.
Please, I beg of you- Donāt do what Buck just demonstrated right here. You never know how much it could really crush someoneās self confidence as an artist.
EDIT:
(I apologize for mixing up Van Gogh and Picassoās art. They are twoĀ completely different artists and my mistake took away from the intended purpose of the post (ą¹ā¢Ģāā¢Ģ©Ģ„Ģą¹))
āāā- wait, can you reblog if you donāt mind random starters appearing in your tag whether itās fluffy, angsty, etc. and if you actually reply to them when they do? just wanna see how many people do tbh.
