never beating the siblings allegations
They're sitting in Eddie's bedroom, Steve propped up in the bed, flipping through some sports magazine, Eddie curled on the floor using his knee as a table as he scrawls notes for Hellfire's next campaign. Metallica spins on the record player, volume low. They're doing this more and more, being together and doing their own thing, music a soft backdrop to it all.
Eddie's deep into his planning, enough so that he manages to forget that Steve Harrington is in his bed. He keeps hearing something, though. It just manages to catch at the edge of his awareness, but when he fully tunes in the only sounds are Steve flipping a page, Ride the Lightning, the shift of blankets as Harrington taps his fingers. It happens a few more times, but when he tries to catch it, it's gone. Steve hasn't reacted at all, to the point Eddie wonders if it's all in his own head.
The next time, he's interrupted before he even gets back into it, that noise again, but this time, now, he's aware enough to see that it's Steve. And he's not, like, reading the magazine out loud to himself. No. He's singing along.
To Metallica.

deputy steve harrington at the grocery store after his shift with eddie.
all they want to do is get ingredients for stir fry-day (yes it is friday) but while eddie went to get broccoli, a man comes up to steve.
he's the guy thats been harassing the sheriff's office for months because he's pretty sure his neighbor is growing weed.
(his neighbor IS growing weed. it's a well known fact. but it's eddie. and eddies' warmed his way into the hearts of the entire precinct so..)
the guy starts to get hostile quick - which he usually does - because, 'i know y'all are here together! how can a cop be a friend with a criminal?!'
steve's not on shift, he's not allowed to do anything when the man gets in his face but back up, raise his hands and ask, 'sir please I need you to calm down.'
the man gives steve a push into the isle and yells, 'like hell I am!!!'
and.... oh. oh no.
here comes eddie munson. barreling down the isle because he sees a man putting his hands on his boyfriend.
eddie throws the broccoli he's holding down, it bounces into a womans cart. she barely even notices with all the commotion going on.
steve might be a cop but steve is EDDIES' cop. if his baby has shit happening then eddie's not gonna let him go through it alone.
he starts rolling his leather jacket sleeves up, with a crazed smile on his face, he booms out a, "yeah, like hell you are!! step away from the cop or imma make you step away from the cop!'
then all hell breaks loose.
Eddie chronically leaves his rings at Steve’s place to the point that Steve checks the bathroom and kitchen sink every time after he leaves, only to find one of them there every time.
Not that Steve is entirely complaining since this means he gets to call him and Eddie gets to stop by on his own to pick them up.
But when they’re at the Wheeler’s place, and Eddie says he’s going to the bathroom, Steve says, “Be careful not to leave one of your rings behind,” with a wink that has the kids exchanging confused looks. But Steve doesn’t notice because he’s too distracted by the light blush coloring Eddie’s cheeks.
“Why would Eddie leave one of his rings behind?” Dustin asks Steve when Eddie’s out of earshot.
Steve laughs. “He leaves one behind every time he washes his hands I swear. I don’t know how he hasn’t lost one at this point.” But his amusement is quick to die down when he realizes the kids are staring at him as if he’s absolutely insane. “What?”
They all glance at each other, and Steve is surprised when Mike is the first to pipe in, “He never leaves them anywhere. They’re like his prized possession. I’ve never even seen him take them off.”
We didn’t get it right but, love, we did our best
When you ask Steve Harrington what his first memory of Eddie Munson is, he will say it was in Mrs. Click's class. Yeah, he didn't know Robin then, but it was hard not to notice someone like Eddie.
Steve remembers it being a Monday, his parents just left for some random country. Mrs. Click was not in a good mood that day.
Steve remembers her stopping mid-lecture and staring at the curly head bowed down three seats behind Steve's left. He's resting his head on his arms, body limp.
"Munson. I don't teach so you can sleep." Mrs. Click impatiently says, her fingers tapping against the plastic table.
Eddie doesn't move, Mrs. Click squints harder and says a little louder, "Eddie Munson."
It's so obvious Eddie was sleeping, but what he does next cements him in Steve's memory.
Eddie jolts a little. It's a small unnoticeable movement, before he finally raises his head. He smiles at Mrs. Click before saying, "Thank you, Jesus. Amen." and does the sign of the cross.
"I am sorry, Mrs. Click. It was time for my morning prayer." Eddie says, a small innocent smile on his face.
And it's so freaking ridiculous. Steve remembers shaking his head and biting down a laughter.
It's even more ridiculous when Mrs. Click nods approvingly, saying, "That's okay. Next time don't do it in class."
The next time Steve and Eddie get the chance to talk, somewhere in between broken bottles and running from the police, Steve tries to joke as he says to Eddie, "I bet you forgot to do your morning prayer. That's why this is all happening."
It's lame. But eh, it's worth it when Steve hears Eddie laugh for the first time in two days.
