I live in the middle of nowhere, and my insurance has been annoying saying that I could only get the vaccine from a doctor’s office and not anywhere like CVS or Walmart (which I still don’t get, because I thought it was free). And it’s caused a problem because there is ONE doctor’s office nearby that I can go to (since the ones in the town over were also being boogers and only offering the vaccines to their own patients), and they’ve had a very limited supply of vaccines for a while and have only been giving them out to their elderly patients, so I’ve been stuck not able to get the vaccine for a while now.

But guess who was FINALLY able to get to their first shot? THIS GIRL!!!

Now, does anyone have any advice on how to deal with the arm pain, because I can barely move my arm.

Honestly, I loved Nini’s storyline this episode. Like, she didn’t stay for Ricky, but she realized that her dream wasn’t actually her dream, and I could relate to that so much. 

Too often, I think shows like to push the idea that success comes from attending the best schools and making the most money, so I was very happy to see them normalizing them not sacrificing your happiness for success, and instead being able to find happiness elsewhere.

Okay, so I’m 21 and already an archery coach and about to become a high school English teacher and already can count fifteen grey hairs on my head and have presented papers at conferences, but I’m obsessed with JATP and HSMTMTS, and I’m addicted to TikTok, and my brother literally told me that he doesn’t like hanging out with me because I act like a five-year-old and I’m too happy.

So like, what even is my mental age? Cause I feel like it changes on a daily basis.

So I’ve never mentioned this before, but I coach archery, and everyone is always confused as to why I shoot with a left-handed bow but I’m right-handed.

Well, I just went to the optometrist today, and I thought it might be cool to explain it.

So in archery, it is a common mistake to pick a bow based on your dominant hand. HOWEVER, you actually need to pick a bow based on which of your eyes are dominant. This is because of aiming. If you are left-eye dominant and using a right-handed bow, you will often find yourself shooting off to the side because you are aiming with non-dominant eye. 

An easy test to find out which eye is dominant is to point at a certain spot on the wall (like a clock or a stain) and then close one eye at a time and see how far it looks like your finger has moved. Or, you can bring your hands together, stare at a spot on the wall, and slowly bring your hands to your eyes and see which eye it comes to.

Anyway, this is very important, because, if you’re like me and have one eye that is way worse than the other, you will be way off base trying to aim.

I wear glasses, and I’m near-sighted in both eyes. However, I also have asitgmatism, and while I have only 2 diopters of astigmatism in my left eye, I have 4.75 in my right eye. When I first got glasses, my optometrist told me that I had a bit of a lazy eye in my right eye because of this. 

So, when I use a right-handed bow, like I did before I learned about eye-dominance, I can’t even hit the target. But when I use a left-handed bow, I can hit the bullseye much easier.
