I skipped over Fangirls since it came out, because people were talking about it like it's an anthem for teen girl interests, and I COULD NOT do the "uwu everyone only hated Twilight because teen girls liked it" discourse again. But great news! It's actually about how teen girls are feral, and we love that for them!

I just listened to the cast recording of Eugenius! Every song was a beautiful bop. But could someone please write a full description of the plot, and what actually happens in each song, like a Wikipedia synopsis? I know that the conflict is that Tough Man and Hector etc turn out to be real and Eugene misses his friends, but it's a bit like an itch when I don't understand what's going on. The full lyrics aren't available either. So can you please help me with this, if it's not too much trouble?

I wish I could, but I don’t even know the story! I’m in Australia so I’ve never seen it either rip.

Show to start staning: Fangirls

It’s a brand new Australian musical that recently premiered in Brisbane and soon in Sydney. It has a cast album coming out late 2019/early 2020 and IS AMAZING

It follows Edna, a fourteen year old girl who’s a Fangirl of the fictional band True Connection and specifically the band member Harry.

The musical explores how passionate these Fangirls can be, the double standards when it comes to how girls and boys express their passions and what for (say bands vs sports teams) and how you should never underestimate them.

The music is upbeat and bright, the book is amazing and it’s a seriously funny musical. The sound isn’t like any other musical I know, however if I had to pick I’d say a mix of Muriels Wedding, Be More Chill, Mean Girls and Dear Evan Hansen... but trust me it’s unique.
