Sometimes it blows my mind that there are people that donāt wear glasses/contacts. Like they can literally see with no aid. Like they wake up and just be out here seeing. What a wild concept.
And people say stuff like ālol donāt you hate it when you look up in the middle of the night and see a spider on your ceilingā like bitch (!!) i could have Nicholas II last czar of Russia hangin from my ceiling fan and i would be none the wiser
Me mate Mozza and I commentate the drunkest guy ever trying to buy more beer. Classic.Ā

BLOG
Iām back!
My MusicTakeMe Blog website now lives on a different part of the internet, and itās been taking me a long time to transfer memories and begin anew, but it was worth the effort. It was time to make a change. I started writing via wordpress in college, and my blog was many things before it settled into a music blog.Ā With this move to wix, Iāve been able to create a beautiful space that I am incredibly proud of, foster the connection with readers Iāve always wanted, and share my personal music story in a way that feels more organic.Ā
I am really excited for this new space, and I hope youāll join me along the ride
@breigrace Gotta thank this wonderful artist for this nice character art. See who this is on the upcoming character spotlight!
Beginnings
Just starting out is hard. Just starting out and not knowing anyone makes it harder. Just starting out, not knowing anyone, and not being given a chance can be crushing.
As you may be aware, I independently published my first book on amazon.com. So far Iāve had a good start. One five star review, a bunch of copies sold and given away in various formats. Iāve even had a book signing.
Itās the little things that make me foam at the mouth about the whole marketing aspect of being an author. I didnāt study marketing. I donāt know what Iām doing. That much is obvious. So I reach out for help. I looked for help in places I thought would be interested. Like my Alma mater, and my high school. News flash, they werenāt. The most I got was silence or a āgood job, buddyā. I didnāt expect a lot, just a brief line in the alumni magazine. X of class y published his first book. Eight little words. Minimal effort. They have plenty of room in those things to announce weddings.
Now, full disclosure. I wasnāt a student to be brimming with pride over when I went to those schools. I was one of those kids that realized the system itself is flawed and participated enough to advance but knew it didnāt measure anything of actual value to me. College was a little different. I actually enjoyed it. I felt challenged, it wasnāt all about grades, it was about experience.
So I reached out to the alumni relations of both. I know some alumni of my high school and college. Theyāve been trying to help as well. But it seems like to get anywhere you need to have the same things that you normally would need to get your book published the traditional route. Otherwise they donāt seem to care.
You need to know someone. You need to have money. And you need to already be an established author. Basically you need to be a sure thing. You need to not be a risky investment. By nature of being new, youāre automatically risky. If you donāt have these things you need to be extremely lucky.
Thereās one thing I have, and maybe you do too, that they undervalue. Iām not going anywhere. Iām going to keep writing. Iāll finish my second book and publish that on my own if I have to. Iāll keep reaching out to these people. At this point I expect rejection. Thatās fine. Not everyone is going to like everything I write. People are different from one another.
Mainly, none of this is about them. Itās all about the work. The work is its own reward. Iām going to write until I drop dead. Iāll be exploring the human condition through fantasy and Sci fi, and all the various other genres that donāt get enough credit. When Iām done Iāll have a body of work that I can be proud of, even if no one else is.
The thing about that is, I already have reached the point of being proud of my own work. And itās not in the status symbol sort of way. Itās in the way that a creator is proud of something.
For all the new authors out there struggling to find your way Iāve got some good news for you: youāre not alone, be proud of your work. The people not giving you a chance donāt actually matter. You gotta keep giving you a chance. You gotta keep creating.
āĀ You gotta keep giving you a chance. ā

Well, itās been done. The book has been done since April. Hello Tumblr, letās talk about this book for a bit.Ā I wrote this partly to tell a story about a world I created back in 2009 and have been working on ever since. The other part of the reason why I wrote it is because I need to write something. I start to feel sick if Iām not working on something creative. Since Iāve completed this one Iāve started working on the second volume.Ā
Iāve also continued to work on the site I built in 2009. Itās been a long road. I deleted all the old posts on this tumblr to mark the beginning of a new era.Ā
Here comes your prologue in a few minutes. Just a taste for you to read.
Amazon.com: A Ritual of Blood (The Curse of Victory Book 1) eBook: C. J. Cefalu, Cha'le Fentress, Kristina Gavin: Kindle Store
In its prime, the Sovereign Kingdom of Cruinthe was known as the foremost military power in the world, eclipsing the might of the Elven Empire of the High Born, the Zetegnean Empire, Helmistan, and all four Southern Kingdoms of Humanity combined. For over a thousand years, Cruinthe has been one of the most prominent powers in the world. The Cruinthian Military has never tasted defeat. Princess Superior Melissa Justea is the monarch of the Sovereign Kingdom of Cruinthe during one of its most defining time periods: The Decade of Strife, a terrible, ten-year long war against the forces of the Hells itself. The leader of her enemy, Cuel Squaāal Taāal, was the most feared being in the world, and she crushed him and his armies of undead. But after just a year of peace, unrest begins again. Centuries later, Krim Alstan has just graduated from the Knights Program at Settrak Training Center, located in the Sorath Province of the Sovereign Kingdom of Cruinthe. At the top of his class, he is recommended for dangerous service and receives his first assignment under Moris dāAilignmort, an enigmatic sorcerer who hides his visage beneath a metal mask. Krimās friend, Vaskra, a young Skaldi, is a member of the 4th Courier Battalion of the Cruinthian Military. The lizard man was born and raised in the Cruinthian capitol city of Fordeth. Patriotic and educated, Vaskra is a rarity among his kind, as the Skaldi are natural born warriors. Despite his wishes, he finds himself involved in a new and deadly conflict. Whenever Cruinthe finds itself at peace, war is never far behindā¦
