When Kitty articulates her anger after being confronted by Tom, it’s genuinely one of the strongest scenes in the series.
It marks the moment she begins to take her power back. She is standing up for her feelings and recognising that what happened to her was not her fault. She is a survivor. And nobody, not even her own child, can make her feel ashamed of the abuse she endured, because her anger is (and always has been) valid.
The self-awareness, the compassion, the acceptance… it shows how Kitty’s perception is shifting, as she recognises that there are different ways to cope now. That there is something to live for.
She sees that there are people who care about her, and in doing so, she realises she no longer has to hurt herself. She does not have to carry that weight anymore if she chooses to let it go. She actually gives a shit, and it feels really good!
Have a wonky photo of London to celebrate seeing Bath Mat last night! Had a great time with a lovely new friend. Go see our beloved chaos gremlin and prepare to be Overwhelmed (positive) if you're in the front row, good lord.
I'm starting a list
it's been long enough that i can make this confession
i got about halfway through shape of water, stopped to make dinner, and then had the thought 'man this would be way better if the black woman was the main character' and then i didn't ever turn it back on 😅
I have never been this calm during an album listen
A man went viral with a TikTok in which he told off National Guard troops deployed to L.A. amid anti-ICE protests, but it wasn't actor Wyatt
Hi Folks, Just a reminder not to fall for misinformation, even well-meaning misinformation spread by enthusiastic folks. Yeah, that does kind of look like Wyatt, but that also...ain't him. At least not according to his publicist. Though that's exactly what they would say, isn't it (sarcastic, fairly anyhow).
Still the speech that Not-Wyatt gave is worth watching. Right now, it's probably easiest viewed if you type in 'Wyatt Russell speech' because the Internet is a slow-changing beast except when it isn't.
