Turned to the hand that is extended to him, Kyoya reaches out and gives his ‘father’ a welcoming handshake. A normal greeting, nothing too big, or extraordinary.
“I apologize if any of this is so sudden,” He mentions, “Oh, how rude of me. If you haven’t already been told I’m Kyoya Gaen. I don’t think mentioning where I come from really matters considering what just previously happened… I suppose we were all caught off guard by this event, if anything please do take your time to get use to everything for I am as well.”
The boy smiles towards the new pair, “I think it’d still be an excellent idea if we all got to know each other at least, right?”
❝ Melody… Kyoya… ❞
Sei spoke quietly to himself, repeating the names as the introductions were made. The handshake almost felt.. Formal. Though, he was more unaware as to how he should have greeted the other in this situation. While his eyes were able to watch the world, this was still something he had never experienced for himself. Watching and actually experiencing something was more different than he’d imagined. It was rare that he exchanged conversation with anyone that wasn’t anything unpleasant..
Apparently lost in thought, his attention returned to the conversation at hand moments later. ❝ … ❞ Yes, it was easy to say that the events startled him.. It even saddened him. With no knowledge as to whether or not someone precious to him survived as well.
❝ Yes… I’m sure it will take time for us to get used to… ❞
Still, he managed a smile then at the other’s suggestion.
❝ Of course..! I’d like that.. Melody..? Would you mind? ❞
[For a moment the woman just looked out of the corner of her eye, watching the older of the two men with the faintest trace of a frown, curiosity written in her eyes. She was fairly sure what had caused the subtle change in heartbeat, it wasn't difficult to guess with the current situation after all. It would be more unusual not to be sad or worried in the slightest...]
Mm, that's a wonderful idea..
[Eyes danced between the two men. Smile coming back to her face, with an extra note of softness touching her features.]
It would be unusual living together, and not knowing each other, even if only a little.
[Going into full detail of their lives probably wasn't required, of course. And while it wasn't always necessary to know people, it still earned a sense of trust when you shared information about yourself and each other. That was better than leaving everything blank, especially when they were to be a family...]
