One of seven embroideries I’ll be exhibiting at a group show✨ will be showing sneak peaks of the others over the week, but first exhibition details: “𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐒” An exhibition showcasing artists’ personal stories on mental health.

Proudly curated by local illustrator, @sarahthursday , Catharsis is a collective art exhibition where 15 artists express their deeper emotions and mental struggles through art. We hope to connect with others through our works and that our stories may help others feel less alone in their struggles of life.

At this show, we strive to encourage people to find healing to their mental wounds through sharing of experiences and their pains. By sparking more conversations, we aim to fight the negative stigma of mental health conditions, and bring about a closer understanding of mental health and illness to the society.”

This took me 40min from scratch, and without any planning and finishing touches, yet the client wants 8-12 personalised hoops of this hand made, on site within 4 hours, 4 sessions, over 2 days. I really appreciate that people and clients like the craft and want to bring it into their businesses and are willing to invest in what we do.

But embroidery is a slow craft, it’s not meant to be done at a machine pace. By insisting on fitting the quantity instead of the quality, you’re belittling us into just machines for your amusement.

I do apologies on not taking care of the musing here as I am embracing my new chapter of working while at the same time making my small business @artjoybeth which became my amazing second child that saves me looking good, Don’t worry I’ll get some new works to share here and hope to find the inner voice in the musing here,I hope for the proper comeback for this fine art bird to be shown, right now I am focusing on the adulting that I needed
