You know it’s NCAA season because I just saw a Y1.5 and my immediate reaction was “THE DIFFICULTY!!!”

DOUBLE DOUBLE IN COMBINATION. WHAATTT???
Is that ub dismount a fabrichnova? Cant count the twists
Yep! Clockwise, it’s a Fabrichnova, a double double beam dismount, a Biles + punch front, and a triple double.
New Romanian Seniors in 2018
Aka say hello to your 2020 team (lmao i wish)
This fetus here is Larisa Iordache. Excellent beam set when she decides to hit which includes a bhs + tuck 1/1 and triple twist dismount, and great on floor as well. Decent bars (aka brilliant for a Romanian). Will definitely be an AA threat!
Catalina Ponor (1987 2002). Also great on beam and floor (especially beam). Rumored to be training a piked full-in dismount. Has a stunning 1.5 Yurchenko but twisting is kinda wonky. Doesn’t do bars. Why don’t you so bars kid? Will probably challenge for beam and floor medals. Multiple times. I predict a long career for this one but who tf knows.
This smol child is Sandra Izbasa. Her strongest event is floor where she maybe possibly might become a champion idk who knows. Watch out for her vaults as well. Decent bars for a Romanian. Beam is pretty meh by Romanian standards but still good. I think she’ll be a pretty good AAer.
This kiddo here is Diana Bulimar. Her floor is the greatest thing ever. Seriously. Check out that DLO! Kinda headcasey on bars, average on vault and beam. But she’s a firecracker and a cinnamon roll. I hope she won’t get injured a lot!!!
Ana Porgras. She won’t mysteriously retire right before the Olympics. Nope. Not gonna happen. The artistry snobs drool over this one. Her bars are 👌🏼 for a Romanian and her beam is
😍😍😍. Miiiiiiiight win a world title on beam. Anyway yeah she won’t break our hearts or anything, I promise.
I’m on an Ilaria Kaeslin kick right now lmao
she never gets credit for how beautiful she is like honestly she’s been stunning her whole career and no one really acknowledges her
Everyone who reblogs this before New Years (11:59 PM 12/31/17)
will be given a small art piece based off of their blog! (Well a photo over Tumblr of it but it’ll be good quality)
And I mean EVERYONE as long as it’s before the end date! Reblog fast for cute art things!
I love a good gainer series

Inbar-Gienger Talks Technique: Inbars
Periodically requested, here’s a post about inbars! I kept it short and sweet, and help you differentiate good inbars apart from the bad ones. Enjoy!
First off, lets discuss what an inbar is. For sake of discussion, today we will be discussing piked inbars. Typically coming from a kip-cast handstand, an inbar is a skill done where the gymnast pikes her feet through the bar and circles it, coming back up into handstand or into the next skill.
As you can see below, Komova begins her pike very early. As she swings underneath the bar, she is so far piked that her feet can easily clear this. This is partially due to technique, but mostly to do with her incredible hamstring flexibility. Lots of gymnasts do not possess the ability to do inbars, simply for the reason being that they are not flexible enough!
Compare the above two pictures with Ragan Smith’s inbar. If you look closely enough, she flexes her feet to clear the bar. She isn’t leaning backwards enough, and does not appear to be flexible enough to complete the skill correctly.
Overall, what differentiates the good from the bad inbars include flexibility, and the position of their bodies relative to the bar as they clear it.
