i actually would think the NT coordinator visiting the main team contenders to see their progress would make sense if he visited all of them and not the same one many times 🙃

Jade earned her spot through consistent hard fucking work like everyone else has ever done. Hers just wasn’t for team USA all the time - it was for her (and it’s not actually wrong of her to do that!) and I think that really struck a nerve with Tom. It’s not a shortcut in any way because it requires consistent international work

She is incredibly brave for coming forward. This is also why we can’t rely on current gymnasts to report abusive coaching. For many years, people on the gymternet defended Texas Dreams because their gymnasts had nothing bad to say about them. They had nothing bad to say because abuse is so rampant and normalized from a very young age for these girls. It is hard to realize how traumatic something is when you’re still in the middle of experiencing it. Texas Dreams NEVER produced a healthy senior elite who performed like they did as juniors. And I would bet any outsider who spent a day in their gym would see all of what Ashton talks about - racist comments, children being screamed at and pushed through injuries. These things are not hard to spot; they’re just so accepted in this sport. And the athletes pay the price.

Honestly they never say well with me, particularly after watching the Texas Dreams Beyond the Routine. Chris was spotting the girls on bars and said something along the lines of “here comes the heavy lifter” before working with Peyton Ernst, and that comment stuck with me as just being a major red flag. Ugh these poor girls. I hope Kim and Chris don’t recover from this. They need to be held accountable.

Svetlana Khorkina is very overrated gymnastics-wise and also a terrible shitty person. 

Sure, go ahead and blame and dismiss multiple counts of abuse in the sport and say they only want fame.
