So, Iâm mutantkin (which is where my username comes from), but I don't really have any memories as a mutant, so I haven't been able to find out what my powers were/would've been. I scoured the Superpower Wiki and went through more than 2,600 pages. I compiled a list of powers that I either felt connected to or that stood out to me, and then I sorted them based on how strong the connection was. Today, I finally figured out my power! It's called Inner Animal (a variation of Inner Beast). My inner animal is a wolf, which finally explains why I'm wolfhearted! I believe I've been missing our connection/bond.
Honestly, it explains many things. Some of my earliest memories involve trying to communicate with animals, replicating their movements, and telling others that I could understand animal language. Animals also seem to allow me to go near them (eg. squirrels coming up to my hands but running away from everyone else), which I think is related to Animal Blending. There are plenty more examples, but I don't want this post to be too long.
Anyway, since Inner Animal powers have many applications (as listed on the Wiki page), I thought I'd share the ones that specifically apply to me, because I don't have all of those abilities.
Power Infusion (with inner beast/animal) and Augmentation (self only)
Adrenal Activation (when power-infused or morphed)
Berserker Physiology (only during a feral state of mind)
Enhanced Combat, Durability, and Strength (when power-infused or morphed)
Inner Beast Attacks, Concentration, Element Manipulation (ice), Manipulation, Summoning, Symbiosis, Transformation, Energy Manipulation
Animal Manipulation (canines only), Companionship, Blending (mostly mammals, particularly canines), Empathy, Imitation (when power-infused or morphed), Telepathy (with inner beast/animal), Combat (canines only), and Morphing (into wolf only)
Animalistic Combat (when power-infused or morphed)
I think there are cooler powers out there, but I canât lie to myself. As much as Iâd prefer to have something like umbrakinesis, I donât have a connection to it. Regardless, Iâm very happy to have figured this out! A lot of mutantkin are mutants that already exist in other media, so they know what their powers are automatically. It took me some effort, but it was worth it in the end.
