Kao was quick to respond with a gesture, wrinkling his nose in a childish manner. His suspicions were now confirmed, impression of the girl now soiled by his over imaginative thoughts. Anyone that hung around smile wasn’t worth anyone’s time, including himself. Pale lips remained silent, only parting as he brought his flask back out. Something told him it was going to be a long day.
“So, now that I’ve met your girlfriend, what’s the plan? —If you’re done eye fucking her, that is.”
His voice held no malice, dead in tone, but simply unamused by the situation. It almost surprised him that he held no jealousy towards Smile. It just served as a reminder that his attention had already been stolen in that aspect.
“If not, by all means– Carry on. I’ll find something else to do.”
HE SNEERED … encouraged by the sound of monoe’s hushed laughter from behind him. the two made eye contact once again, and their giggles carried on a moment longer. it seemed monoe hadn’t changed a bit since they’d last been in one another’s company– [ well, it hadn’t been more than a few months ago, but, especially where they lived, that was plenty of time for a person to change completely ]. the glances they exchanged were both coy and humorous, flip-flopping between emotions as if putting their unusual relationship on display for any eye keen enough to take notice of the meaning in their gazes. the two had, in fact, met several months back through a shared acquaintance, quickly jumping into a ‘more than friends ( but not by much )’ type of relationship. the majority of interactions between them, however, had been based around their mutual amusement for the RUIN of others– working together for some time to deceive, steal, bribe and threaten either’s respective enemies. after a specific incident came to the unforeseen point of police involvement, the two temporarily cut ties with the intention of laying low– and since then, months had passed, and restlessness had peaked, leading them where they stood now. it was time for something new– something BIG.
“ — big plans, man … we got us some BIG plans. monoe’ll explain ‘em t’ya, … right, DOLL–? “
Smile and his friend contrasted unexpectedly-- the disinterested expression and general lack of enthusiasm was somewhat unusual for an acquaintance of someone like him. There was also something different about the interactions between them however, giving her the impression that the two were actually closer than previously thought. Raising an eyebrow at the thought, Monoe found herself wondering as to why he’d failed to introduce him prior-- though, in the end, that was also very much like him, she’d decided.
Stepping forward as her name fell from his lips, the girl turned to her unfamiliar company, the corners of her mouth curled up in a cheshire grin. It was an opportunity to look him over, up and down, almost similar to how a predator might examine its prey-- and ‘prey’ wasn’t terribly unfitting for a first impression based on appearance alone; he was pale, sickly in color, and definitely too thin to be considered healthy. Sharp eyes grew narrow as her smile widened, boldly stepping forward to significantly lessen the distance between them.
“ I'm Monoe... It’s Kao, right? Smile and I have discussed it and... ...we want to start a gang. “
