“Oh, yeah, I’d forgotten about that.”
What a blatant lie.
“But I don’t really do anything after school anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt to come by sometimes, yeah? The company would be nice anyway.”
In truth, she was mildly desperate to stay here. This was her safe haven, after all.
“Ah… Just tell me what days you want me to come by, you know? I’ll make note of it.”
“I don’t have any students to tutor so come by whenever you’d like.”
He tried to hide the amount of relief he felt, warm smile in place of an relieved sigh. Silently telling himself to not intervene was just becoming too much. Masada’s good nature triumphed over his image any day. If it was tutoring, then it wasn’t such a big deal.
“I already have a few practice pieces printed out if you want to get a head start on them. You’re a smart girl, I’m sure it’ll be easy.”
