Episode 5’s dance practice scene was,
I think, Anne and Gilbert’s first time letting lose and simply having fun together. There were no arguments, no exams, no spelling bees, no missions (Anne’s origin search), no struggles (Mary or Mr. Blythe’s death). It was... a fleeting moment of ease and relaxation where their walls faded away just long enough for them to be carried away by one another. For once they weren’t arguing, apologizing, competing, scheming, or focusing on burdens in their lives. For once they were able to discover a new type of comfort in each other: intimacy. This discovery has ruffled some feathers, though, hasn’t it?
shirbert/derry nation we won tonight
Clearly my type of men are those who look at someone like they hung the moon and the stars in the sky

“Dear old world, you are very lovely and I am glad to be alive in you.”
- Anne Shirley.
Miss Stacey: This assignment is easy, just write about your happiest childhood memory!
Anne: My what?!
you need a pencil in class…
diana barry: gives you a pencil and an extra one in case it breaks
anne shirley: gives you one but makes you promise you’ll give it back
josie pye: types her notes on a laptop so can’t help you
jerry baynard: was about to ask you for a pencil so youre both screwed
ruby gillis: offers you her glitter pen and a smile as she pulls out another glitter pen for herself
gilbert blythe: has one pencil that has been sharpened so much that it’s now just a nub but still gives it to you
moody spurgeon: has been using a green crayon all semester
Gilbert and Anne
Gilbert: You and Anne are pretty close
Cole: It’s not like that
Gilbert: It’s okay Cole, it’s just that I really like her and I’m really struggling to know if she feels the same way and I—
Cole: I’m gay
Gilbert:
Cole:
Gilbert:
Cole: So you like Anne. Let’s talk about that
cole is the king of gays
Gilbert
is two years older than Anne
is already mature for his age
tended to his father in his illness, practically kept the Blythe house standing
endured the pain of losing his father
went on a sea voyage, shovelling coal, running orders 24/7
delivered a fricking baby
realised he wants to be a doctor, comes back home
signs Bash as partner as well as family all on his own
is undergoing an apprenticeship to further his medical practice
tends to his farm and helps raise Baby Delphine
I still can't believe, Gilbert "The Man" Blythe is willing to participate in a juvenile and frivolous affair such as "Taking Notice" where people post angsty things for someone to walk them home. Just for Anne's sake and he almost did if she hadn't mentioned Ruby.
Oh! He would've written the best post in the history of taking notices.
Gilbert: Hey Anne, I was wondering if you would maybe like to dance with m-
Charlie: Hey Anne you wanna dance?
Anne: Ok... I guess
Gilbert:
I SWEAR THIS IS WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TONIGHT
