Flickergate & Will the Builder

Okay, okay, so I have to get this out there because my friends are not answering and I need to share with someone

ANYWAY

I saw a post somewhere (credit to that creator if anyone knows what I am referring to) that said that the reason the light flickers above Mike in Season 1 at the start is because he somehow created the Upside Down - Mike wanted to continue their campaign, but it had to come to an end, as a result, the Upside Down gets frozen on November 6, 1983, the day Will gets taken by the demogorgon.

Then you have the fact that basically anything that they ever say in regards to DND comes to pass. And now in Season 5, we have Mike call Will a sorcerer, only for Will's powers to be unlocked shortly after.

BASICALLY, from what I remember of the original post, the Upside Down is somehow being created/manipulated by Mike and/or Will

And then, in Volume 2 of Season 5, we have Vecna refer to Will as his "builder" - now, I know he is referring to the tunnels, but I don't know, I feel like there is something more significant to the fact that Will is the one to create the tunnels rather than Vecna himself - could flickergate be real? Could Mike and/or Will be responsible for the Upside Down taking on the appearance of Hawkins and being frozen on November 6, 1983?

All this to say, someone please tell me they've also caught this and are questioning the significance of the wording here 😂

and i had a panic attack

now, looking back, it’s so clear to me what i was going through, but at 17 and not fully knowing what i was experiencing and because of the pressure from people around me, i said yes

Aro culture is constantly having people assume you’re dating your friends. Nope, I just love them, and also happen to enjoy much more physical contact than what most of society would deem normal for friendships

Romance and sex being optional and not mandatory actions for everyone regardless of attraction really made me feel comforted as a sex adverse allosexual :)

I'm glad! I think it's important to remember we're always to feel however we want about romance and sex, and choose if and how we want to participate or not. And that goes for everyone.

You know what? Forget the discourse. This is no longer my hill to die on.

You wanna ship canonically aspec characters because “aro/ace people can still date/have sex”? Okay, then. LET’S DO IT.  I wanna see an aromantic character with an alloromantic love interest. I wanna see that confession of undying love and the moment when the aro character says they will never feel the same way—not romantically.

I wanna see the asexual character with their allosexual partner. I wanna see that moment when the ace characters tries sex with their partner for the first time because they want to make them happy only to realize that they are 100% sex repulsed.

I wanna see the two demiromantics who don’t even know if what they feel is romantic attraction, but they adore each other and just want to make healthy snacks together and destroy each other at Mario Kart.

I wanna see the two aces who love sensual affection and are figuring out what they define as sexual or not.

I wanna see the romance + sex neutral aroace who happily and consensually does whatever makes their partner happy…but their partner still struggles with feeling undesired. 

Oh, babe. You thought shipping an aspec character would be just like shipping an allo character?
