a quiet morning
Woke up in her bed, with her sleeping soundly next to me. I studied her beauty. Breathing deeply; her eyes shifted beneath closed lids. Soft lines on her skin branched out from the corner of her eyes giving them a permanent smile. Brown hair cascaded around her head, like she was suspended in water. Her skin glowed with summer sun. I felt the desire to hold her hand, and caress her arm. She was so close to me now. I was washed in the smell of her perfume and sunscreen. A gentle scent, faded from the morning, yet lingering still. Her leg was pressed against mine. I had never been so close to someone who's name was new to my lips. There is so much I want to learn about her, so many questions to ask about her. But now is not the time. Quiet in the morning hour, we laid side by side. Slowly, I drifted back to sleep, her body so close to mine, in her bed.
